**please make any citations you find on the web** What are the pros and cons of a universal/single payer Medicare for all system in the US? Is the universal/single payer Medicare for all system right for the American people? In your discussion review the experience of other countries that have government operated health care. We currently have a government operated and controlled single payer system in the US. This is known as the Veteran's Administration (VA) system. Would this be a satisfactory system for the general population? There is also an important economic consideration of a universal/single payer system. What would be the economic impact of taxation to pay for health care delivery? What is the taxation experience in other countries that have a one payer system? Can our health care system survive and thrive under a Medicare/Medicaid scheme of reimbursement?

The Big Picture Taking into consideration what you have achieved in your academ ...

The Big Picture Taking into consideration what you have achieved in your academic and professional career thus far and what you plan to do in the future, what are your thoughts about “the big picture” of your life? This can include your own personal mission or purpose, the goals you have set for yourself, and so on. Perhaps you have certain goals or plans related to pursuing a particular career path, or perhaps there is a personal passion you want to pursue. In people’s personal lives, these big-picture goals may be related to career, relationships, health, financial stability, and so forth, and they may or may not be connected to a person’s sense of mission or purpose. In an organizational context, these “big picture” goals may also be financially focused, related to the sustainability of the organization, and connected to an organizational mission. In either context, long-term, strategic planning is key to ensuring that goals are met. And when driven by a mission or purpose, achievement of those goals can fulfill even greater outcomes than simply an individual person’s or business’s success. In this Discussion, you will consider your experiences with and knowledge of organizational culture and mission- or purpose-driven strategy to analyze the roles they play in an organization. Resources Be sure to review the Learning Resources before completing this activity. Click the weekly resources link to access the resources. WEEKLY RESOURCES To prepare for this Discussion: Draw upon the knowledge and skills you have developed throughout your program. Consider your experiences with and knowledge of organizational culture. Consider the idea of an organization being mission driven or purpose driven. By Day 3 Post your analysis of the role of culture, mission, and purpose in an organization’s strategy, to include the following: In your own words, briefly explain what strategy is and how it can help business leaders to focus on “the big picture.” Based on your own experiences and knowledge of organizational culture, identify which aspects of culture within organizations are most critical to the development and execution of business strategy. Explain why. Analyze whether it is beneficial for an organization to base its strategy on being mission driven or purpose driven. Explain why or why not. Are there any negatives or compromises that organizations might need to consider? Refer to the Week 1 Discussion Rubric for specific grading elements and criteria. Your Instructor will use this grading rubric to assess your work. Important Note About Discussion Rubrics: In the peer-to-peer engagement section of the Discussion, the focus of your posts and responses should be to promote quality interaction with your colleagues and Instructor, to further the dialogue on the particular topic, to deepen your mutual understanding of concepts, and to draw out new ideas. Although you are encouraged to provide support for ideas you bring in from other sources, which is appropriate for discourse within a master’s-level classroom, emphasis is placed on the quality of the engagement as noted in the Discussion rubrics, with 40% of your score based on your level of engagement in the ongoing conversation with your colleagues.

Prepare and deliver a 5-7 minute extemporaneous speech in which you make an argument related to the topic you chose for your informative speech. You must attempt to persuade your classmates to take up or support a cause related to this topic. For example, if you informed your classmates about the history of the automobile in your informative speech, you could then argue for a law to be passed that would raise the speed limit to 80 miles per hour on California’s highways in your persuasive speech. Alternatively, if informed your classmates about a nonprofit organization that you support in your informative speech, you could then attempt to persuade your classmates to volunteer with or donate to that organization in your persuasive speech. You are required to prepare and submit two types of outlines for your speech on Canvas before class begins on the first day of persuasive speech deliveries, F, 11/15: Working Outline (Preparation Outline) - Purpose: This is a detailed outline that will help you fully develop your speech content. Format: Write this outline in complete sentences. It should include everything you plan to say during your speech. Content: Ensure that your working outline covers the full structure of your speech, including the introduction, body, and conclusion, with detailed information for each section. Citations: Include in-text citations within the outline where you reference sources. At least two scholarly journal articles should be cited. References: At the end of the working outline, provide a reference page listing all sources cited, formatted in APA or MLA style. The same scholarly journal articles cited in the text should be cited on the reference page as well. I have dropped a file with the outline you can use to write my persuassive working outline. However, I have also attached an OLD copy of my informative speech outline, to give you an idea of how my professor wants a working outline. BTW the informative and persuasive speeches are different !!! THIS IS A PERSUASSIVE SPEECH NOW!!! My topic is: Why People Should Play Soccer and I will talk about these three topics. 1. Physical Health Benefits 2. Skill Development 3. Mental Well-Being And my CALL TO ACTION is I want the audience to organize pick-up soccer games at a local parks.

Choose a topic from the following list: Business Topics and Assignments for Persuasive Message Links to an external site. Note: ONLY ONE PERSON PER TOPIC; DO NOT ERASE SOMEONE ELSE'S NAME! Alternately, your instructor may choose to assign a topic to you. Use the MSU library to search for credible, third party research and information to support your argument. You will need to find at least 3 credible sources (Example: scholarly journal articles, pewreserach.org, Wall Street Journal article). You can use more than three if you feel it is necessary for a credible message. Write a memo to me, the president of ABC Company, in the proper memo format (see Canvas for this format). The final memo should be about 2.5-3 pages in business format (not including your references on a References page at the end of your report). Business format is 12-point font, left justified text, no indented paragraphs, and a line space between each paragraph. Your memo should contain the following sections: Start with an opening paragraph stating the purpose of the memo – why you are writing this. About XXXX: Provide a short description of the topic and why it is controversial. Position: Briefly discuss your position on the topic and tell me why you believe this. Research: Discuss the current research that supports your position. This section must summarize data from your sources. State who conducted the research, the sample size, and what the findings were. This can be a few paragraphs as needed. Include in-text citations in APA format. (Go online and look up how to do in-text citations and references in APA format). Include two charts and/or graphs and interpret them. These charts/graphs should be on a separate "Appendix page" and not included in the 2.5-3 pages of main memo report; Refer to them within your report. You must show evidence that you understand the information being conveyed in the charts/graphs and how it supports your position. Conclusion: Summarize the importance of the topic and restate your position. This is where your persuasive messaging skills matter. End with a paragraph that tells me how to reach you if I have questions. Use section titles in bold to denote the sections of your memo (e.g., About, Position, Research, Conclusion). Your intro paragraph and last paragraph do not need a section title. My topic is to persuade opposed to supporting the following statement, "GMO's (Genetically Modified Organisms) have made the world a better place. Go against this argument.
