Please carefully read the document I uploaded. It has all the information. Once selected: 1. Use the Summary section/tab to obtain the gene name and information on the the protein for you to describe its function (a short paragraph is fine). 2. Use the Structure section/tab to: a) Obtain the alpha-carbon backbone of the structure of the protein. b) Obtain the location of disease/clinical variants if there are any, if not show population variants (i.e. amino acid variants). 3. Use the Tissue RNA Expression section/tab to: a) Obtain a histogram of the tissue expression data for the gene. b) Obtain a histogram on the cell type expression data in an organ where the gene is highly expressed. 4. Use the Subcell section/tab to obtain immunofluorescence images on the distribution of the protein in a cultured cell line (HeLa, Hep-G2 or U2OS) using the enlarged image o a) Target protein only b) target protein+nucleus c) Target protein+nucleus+microtubules (more if you want to) d) Then describe where the protein is found within the cell 5. Use the Tissue section/tab to: a) Obtain an image of immunohistochemical staining for the protein in an organ tissue that it is highly expressed (positive control). b) Then describe where the protein is within the organ (cytoplasm, nucleus, or membrane) c) Obtain an image of immunohistochemical staining for the protein in an organ this it is not expressed in (negative control). d) Obtain an image for the distribution of the protein at the gross anatomical level in either a biological female or male if it is not differentially expressed and if it is differentially expressed, obtain an image of a male and a female. 6. Lastly, where are you going to go to find information on a protein from structure to gross anatomy?

1. Nkrumah Patient-reported outcomes and hospital-reported outcomes are usually taken into account when reviewing the quality of healthcare services. Patient-reported outcomes are specific descriptions of a patient's health and well-being that are voluntarily provided based on patients own perceptions and experiences. These influences are specific to level of pain, ability to complete daily activities and everyday tasks, and level of satisfaction of the care that patients receive (Porter, 2016). Hospital-reported outcomes are statistics that health care organizations obtain reflecting the quality and effectiveness of the services they provide. This covers details of the average number of readmissions to the hospital, the the rate of complications following surgical procedures, and the average length of hospital stays. The main difference observed in my research is that patient-reported outcomes include personal information and perspectives on medical conditions, and quality of life that are directly from the patients. This reminds me of like a diary or documenting changes in health , so for instance patients dealing with chronic pain can answer questions regarding their care and physicians can also track it for instance if a provider ask a patient to rate their pain over a period of time after surgery to track progress or progression (Porter, 2016). This helps patients to understand how effective the pain management techniques are in treating the patients for clinical observations. This gives a bigger picture of the quality of life and effect of medications and treatments. Questionnaires following a hospital stay, could be sent to patients or even during discharge to evaluate how well they were treated by staff, how attentive the staff was and how clear communication was and the entire experience from beginning to end. This feedback is crucial for identifying areas of improvement in patient care(Melnyk, 2023) . From a more technical perspective, hospital reported outcomes focus on measurable characteristics of care efficiency and quality. For example, high readmission rate may be a sign of problems with the discharge planning or initial care process.Hospitals publish this information and evaluate it monthly to improve quality to avoid pre-op & post-operative problems, including infections, misccomunication and unpleasant experiences (Black, 2017). This information is essential for assessing the efficacy and safety of surgical treatments. Another statistic that could cause some concern is the duration of hospital stays for patients. Longer stays may mean issues that need to be addressed that patients aren't getting the proper care and shorter stays could mean patients are being discharged early (Porter, 2016). Providers of healthcare can get more involved in the patients care by understanding these hospital-reported statistics. Understanding is knowledge, if you know better you do better(Melnyk, 2023). I feel like every organization needs this feedback to grow their business and to maximize their profits, resources and analysis and roll with the continuing changes. Proverbs 18:15 is a scripture from the Bible that highlights how crucial it is to comprehend and incorporate many points of view in healthcare. "The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge, for the ears of the wise seek it out." This verse highlights the importance of seeking knowledge and wisdom. In this case I would use it to help medical professionals look for and interpret information from a bigger picture and from different sources, that can help them understand why they're job is important and not only how it affects the patients but the healthcare system as a whole. They will be better equipped to address the needs of their patients through deeper understanding and a knowledgeable thought process to make efficient decisions. Harvard Business Review, 91(10), 50-70. https://hbr.org/2013/10/the-strategy-that-will-fix-health-care 2.Danielle Patient-reported outcome is” information about a patients health that comes directly from the patient”(NCI). Some examples of patient-reported outcomes include a” patients description of their symptoms, their satisfaction with care, and how a disease or treatment affects their physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and social well-being” (NCI). In clinical trials, patient-reported outcomes may provide information about the side effects of the new treatment being studied. A patient-reported “outcome is directly reported by the patient without interpretation of the patient’s response by a clinician or anyone else and also pertains to the patients health, quality of life, or functional status associated with health care or treatment” (Weldring, T; et al,2013). These can be measured in terms such as patients rating of the severity of pain. PROs can also be used to report changes from a previous measure such as a new onset of nausea following the administration of a new drug. Things such as traditional survival, disease, and physiological outcomes may demonstrate the physiological benefits of treatment. The patient perspective “provides a more holistic interpretation and a comprehensive assessment of the benefits of the treatment under investigation”(Weldring, T;et al, 2013). An example of this would be a new drug can demonstrate good clinical outcome in terms of improving the length of survival for a particular patient group, while PROs may identify that patients are non-compliant with the drug regime due due to reported adverse or side effects, complexity of the drug regime, and or a poor quality of life. Therapeutic intervention has many dimensions which include clinical effectiveness of the intervention and the benefit felt by patients using a variety of instruments or tools. PROs can be used as either a primary outcome or as a secondary outcome of a study. Hospital-reported outcomes are ones that have been identified and reported by hospital staff, these outcome measures provide a view of the impact of the health care services or interventions made by that facility (Melnyk 2023). Most hospital-reported outcomes are part of the federal reporting requirements for hospitals. All of this data is available to the consumer to assist in deciding where to go when needing care. An example of a hospital-reported outcome would include analytical datasets submitted to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The data submitted is used to reimburse and reward healthcare facilities. As healthcare continues to grow, patient-reported measures are expected to play a more prominent role in assessing performance and determining the effectiveness of different treatments. The Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology also plans to incorporate PROs. In 1 Peter 4:10 it says “each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of Gods’ grace in its various forms”, with some many groups working together it is our job to use our gifts as healthcare professionals to serve God and our patients the best we can. “The Root of all…everything!” – A Reflective Learning Discussion. It seems as though everything revolves specifically around the root  operations. Discuss why you think that the entire coding system was  based around the root operation? What was the logic behind it? Does it  make sense or not, and why? Do you think that this will make things more  difficult for surgeons and healthcare providers? What challenges do you  feel this will cause in clinical documentation and coding? Back up your opinions with references and in-text citations to course readings, lectures, or external articles.
