Description Please upload your presentation. PowerPoint Presentation of Field Agency Analysis - Using your agency assessment paper as a guide, you will present your proposed practicum agency or service site via PowerPoint voiceover. The depth of the presentation is to extend the information shared on the agency beyond what was covered in the paper. This presentation must demonstrate your ability to apply knowledge from the professional foundation, social work values, ethics, and skills to practicum experiences. It will begin with a summarization of the following: The history and mission of the agency Discussion of the linkages between and among departments/personnel within the agency (what other personnel work at this agency and how do they work with the social workers to provide services needed for the clients) Explanation of social work roles and positions within the organization (what all do social workers do at the agency? Are there different roles they can be hired for at the agency?) A detailed discussion of your proposed area of placement (what would your role be as an intern at the agency - what type of tasks would you complete?), learning goals and objectives (what do you hope to learn from your internship? What goals do you plan to accomplish?) Perception of preparedness for the Practicum Placement Opportunity (how prepared do you feel to enter the field as an intern at this point?). Also, please explain your feelings in general about entering the field at this time. Make sure you do not put too much information on each slide. It is okay to break this up.  Each of you will create a PowerPoint presentation with the information above. You will do a voiceover through PowerPoint where I would like for you to elaborate on your points which means you do not have to have everything listed on your slides. Also, please do not read off of your slides as I will be able to tell if you are. Know your information enough to just talk to me about your agency. This will be part of the grading for this assignment. Description Literature Review Draft Assignment Instructions Overview The purpose of the Literature Review Draft Assignment (and the Literature Review Final Assignment done later) is to help you to learn the basic ingredients in writing your Chapter Two Literature Review for your dissertation later in the degree program. Even if your topic changes, you will have a better idea how to create a literature review. If your topic stays the same, doing a good job developing this literature review will allow you to expand it later as your real Chapter Two for your dissertation proposal. See the EdD Dissertation Handbook, Appendix D for a quantitative dissertation sample of what Chapter Two includes and Appendix E for a qualitative one. Instructions The assignment must contain the following elements, using APA Style, Current Edition: • Title page • Abstract • Review of Literature The literature review is not an annotated bibliography. You are not simply describing different studies and their findings on a topic. Rather, you are summarizing and critically evaluating the current literature on the topic. According to the APA manual, a good introduction answers the following questions: • Why is this problem important? • How does the study relate to previous work in the area? If other aspects of this study have been reported previously, how does this report differ from, and build on, the earlier report? • What are the primary and secondary hypotheses and objectives of the study, and what, if any, are the links to theory? • How do the hypotheses and research design relate to one another? • What are the theoretical and practical implications of the study? Be sure to create within the summary an argument for why this topic is important and the issues that further research needs to address. Because this is an important component of the assignment, please be sure to address the following in your writing: • Define and clarify the problem • Summarize previous investigations to inform the reader of the state of research • Identify relations, contradictions, gaps, and inconsistencies in the literature • Suggest the next step or steps in solving the problem. In other words, make a case for why additional research needs to be conducted to fill important gaps in the scientific literature on the topic. This must be written in a research-scientific format, as if it is to be submitted to a journal for publication. For a sufficient overview of the literature in this assignment, your review must be 15-20 pages of empirically-based, critical writing and include at least 25 sources. Description This assignment is now due on July 7th at 11:59pm. This should be approximately 1.5 to 2 pages single-spaced. The topic should be different from the policy memo and stakeholder map. The topic can be broader and does not need to be policy specific (to a single bill). Examples are posted to Canvas.  Instructions: 1. Policy Issue Selection: Choose a specific policy issue related to the course content or of personal interest. The issue should be significant and have varying perspectives and potential policy implications. 2. Research and Preparation: Conduct in-depth research on the chosen policy issue, exploring multiple viewpoints, existing legislation, scholarly articles, reports, and real-world examples. Develop a comprehensive understanding of the issue and its context. 3. Testimony Development: Prepare a 1.5 to 2-page written testimony (single-spaced) that outlines your position on the policy issue. Structure your testimony with an introduction, key points, supporting evidence, and a persuasive conclusion. Your testimony should articulate your stance, provide reasoning, and propose policy recommendations. Use credible sources to back up your arguments. 4. Congressional Hearing Simulation: In a classroom or online setting, students will assume the roles of congresspersons. Each student will have 5 minutes to deliver their uninterrupted testimony. During this time, focus on presenting your arguments concisely and persuasively, emphasizing the importance of the policy issue and its potential impact. 5. Debate and Q&A Session: Following each testimony, engage in a structured debate and question- and-answer session. Congresspersons can ask probing questions, challenge arguments, seek clarification, and present counterarguments. Respond to questions and criticisms thoughtfully and respectfully. 6. Conclusion and Reflection: After all testimonies and debates have concluded, reflect on the experience. Consider the strengths and weaknesses of your arguments and presentation style. Evaluate the effectiveness of different strategies used by your peers. Description Case Study Stephanie is a human-services policy analyst who works with the state-run psychiatric hospital system. Her job is to facilitate discharges of patients to the community by coordinating with local mental-health centers and providers of care to make sure that the patient has adequate and immediate post-discharge care. Stephanie received a call from a parole officer of a 25-year-old undocumented-immigrant patient named Kevin, who was in the hospital. The parole officer indicated that Kevin violated parole by abusing illegal substances prior to the admission to the state hospital. The parole officer asked questions about Kevin’s diagnoses, where he was being discharged to, and the staff involved in his care while he was hospitalized. You have been asked to determine if Stephanie can legally and ethically answer these questions and provide confidential health information about Kevin to the parole officer. Prompt Based on your analysis of federal and state laws and applicable regulations that govern human services practices that have been covered in this course, what ethical and legal considerations should be addressed to determine what healthcare and other confidential information can be released, and who can receive it, according to the case scenario provided? Specifically, the following critical elements must be addressed: Introduction: The National Organization for Human Services (NHOS) Ethical Standards and Legal Considerations in Human Services Practices Review and analyze the codes of ethics and legal considerations within the human services field. What NOHS Ethical Standards relate to the release of health information in the human services field? Include your rationale for how you determined which standard applies. What legal issues relate to the release of health information? Use citations to substantiate your claims. What are some of the ramifications for inappropriately releasing confidential information about a patient or client in a hospital setting? What challenges does an agency or hospital experience in relation to complying with laws and regulations? In a case where health records were to be released to a court, what would you do to prepare for court? Include other issues that should be considered by agencies or hospitals to ensure compliance when releasing healthcare and other confidential information. Review of the Case Based on your analysis of the codes of ethics and legal considerations in human services, create strategies to address questions about the case. What information can be released to the parole officer? What information should not be released to the parole officer? Justify your responses. If information is released that should not be, what are the legal ramifications for the human services policy analyst and her organization? Justify your claims with relevant, scholarly research. What are the ethical issues that would arise for a human services professional and her organization due to releasing information that should not be released? Recommend appropriate strategies to mitigate identified ethical issues. Include other issues that should be considered that are specific to this case scenario and related to compliance with NOHS ethical standards and laws that govern the human services field. Justify your claims using concrete, relevant examples. Conclusion Overall, what are the key ethical considerations to be addressed in a hospital setting? Explain why. What laws or regulations are critical to releasing healthcare and other confidential information to a court? Evaluate additional strategies that might prevent a lawsuit that a human services agency could incorporate into policies or practices. What do you recommend human services agencies do to prepare for the release of health records to a court? Use concrete evidence to substantiate claims. After analyzing the NOHS ethical standards and legal considerations and applying your strategies to the case, compose a conclusion addressing the following and support your ideas with citations from your research
