Question: One of my peers answered the questions below. Can you add additional, maybe a better answer to this question? I personally don’t think licensing increases the quality of healthcare. There are requirements (license) that must be met, but I believe the quality of healthcare comes from morals/ethics. Thoughts? Can you expand on this? - - "Do you think licensing of physicians increases the quality of health care? Why do you think so?  Yes, I believe that licensing of physicians plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality of healthcare services. “Only physicians are legally permitted to provide certain services” (Feldstein, 2019). A few reasons why licensing is important because licensing ensures that physicians have met the required standards of education, training, and competency to practice medicine safely and effectively. “Physicians determine admissions to the hospital; length of stay; the use of ancillary services and prescription drugs; referrals to specialists; and even the necessity for service in nonhospital settings such as home care” (Feldstein, 2019). Developing patient trust knowing that physician is licensed can help patients feel confident in the quality of care they receive, fostering trust in the healthcare system.”  - - (a) What is the impact of physician licensing on the quantity of physicians? The high standards curtail the entry of unqualified individuals without the required level of competency, with the overall effect being maintaining a specific quantity of physicians who can provide high quality care to patients. The stringent requirements also limit the number of individuals entering the profession, which maintains the supply of physicians as inadequate (Zhang et al., 2020). Licensing decreases the number of physicians available to provide care. This is because for one to become licensed, they have to undergo rigorous training, education, and examination. Only a handful of people manage to meet these standards, making entry into the medical profession very lo
