When I first hear the word "Art" I automatically think of drawings, paintings, and sculptures but art can come in many other forms as well. These others forms can be in photography, film, dance, and even music. Art is when feelings and experiences are being communicated through any of these forms. Art can be expressed and interpreted visually and audibly which makes it so unique and allows artists to get creative in their own ways. In order for an artists to get creative they really have to go against what is common. The good thing about art is nothing is ever the same; no two pieces can tell the same story. It is very common to find ourselves comparing two pieces, but the one that always sticks out is the one that has more creativity. Creativity to me is when ones imagination takes over and they find new ways to express their art. Art and creativity is in any and everything we use on the daily. From the beds we sleep on to the forks we use to eat, artist have made useful objects appealing to the eye with their creativity. I find myself not being content when things around me, especially in my room, don't look a certain way or are too plain. That's where I feel art comes into my daily life. I've recently been setting up my baby's nursery and if something doesn't go with my theme it is not going to be seen near the nursery.
please respond to. Allie. Part I: Introduce yourself to your classmates with your name, location, current employment, and future goals. Hello everyone, my name is Allie Bizzell and I am a Marine Science Technician in the Coast Guard currently stationed in North Carolina. At the moment I am assigned to the National Strike Force Center of Expertise where we provide support and standardization guidance to our Atlantic, Gulf, and Pacific Strike Teams and our Incident Management Assist Team. We are responsible for ensuring enhanced inter-operability through a program of standardized operating procedures for response, equipment, training, and qualifications. I am pursing my Masters in Occupational Safety and Health with a concentration in Environmental Management to build my resume for support on my application to commission as an officer in the Coast Guard and to set myself up for life after the military. Part II: Discuss the pros and cons of these testing models. Do you believe there would be situations where one model would be more favorable to be used than another? Explain your response. A pro when using animal testing is that there have been successful results in the past and it allows researchers to work in a controlled environment. However, the inaccurate results due to biological differences, the cost and the ethical concerns regarding the mistreatment of animals make this an unfavorable approach. In vitro studies help scientists see how chemicals affect cells and tissues in a controlled way, which is good because it costs less than animal testing and helps understand how the chemicals work. But the results can’t be used directly on whole living things because they don’t show how all the parts interact. In silico studies use computer models to guess how chemicals will behave based on their structures, making it faster to check for hazards. However, these models can’t fully show how chemicals act in real organisms, so scientists often need to check their guesses with animal testing. In the end, picking the right model depends on the situation and finding a balance between being thorough and practical.
The goals of toxicology are to identify the toxicities that chemicals produce and to determine the dose of the chemical that induces toxic effects. Historically, animal research has been performed to determine the toxic dose and toxic effects of chemicals. As time has gone by and technology has improved, alternatives to animal testing have been developed to explore the toxicity of chemicals. Discuss the pros and cons of these testing models. Do you believe there would be situations where one model would be more favorable to be used than another? Explain your response.

Review the following case study and answer the questions that follow: James, a 14-year-old African American male, lives with his 31-year-old single mother and 8-year-old sister in a public housing project on the outskirts of town. James's mother works in a local fast-food resturant and has no health insurance. As a freshman in high school, James is experiencing a great dealof anxiety about fitting in with his classmates, often feels sad, is not sleeping well, and is falling behing in his course work because of his lack of motivation and problems concentrating. Like many of his friends, James is experimenting with alcohol, marijuana, and other drugs and has recently become sexually active. He had unprotected vaginal sex at a party the previous week, and for the past two days, has been experiencing a fire-like burning during unination. James is worried that he might have an STD, but he has no idea of where to go for help. He is very uncomfortable and does not want to go to school, yet he feels that there is no way he can let his mom find out about his condition. James is fortunate in that he attends a school with a school-based health center that offers comprehensive services. On the urging of his best friend, who has had several good experiences at the center, James drops by the center for a visit over his lunch hour. Because his mother signed an enrollment form for the health center when James entered high school, he is able to receive confidential services without the center contacting her. A nurse practiitioner sees him initially for assessment and medical treatment of his STD. The social worked also conducts an initial psychosocial assessment and schedules a time to meet with James the next day. She plans to follow-up with concerns about school and his feelings of sadness and to learn more about his recent drug and alcohol use and sexual behavior. James has given the social worker permission to access his school records and to talk with his teachers and school counselor. The social worker will be able to contact other staff at the health center for assistance in evaluating James and providing him with needed services. 1. What would most likely happen to James if a school-based health center did not exist in his school? 2. How would he find out to get care? 3. Where would he receive care? 4. How would he pay for the care? 5. Research and discuss if schools in your area have health care centers on site. What would be the hurdles for a school district to develop health care centers. Many schools have a nurse on staff, but the nrurses on staff do not rovide medical interventions, usually only making referrals.
Question1) Reading 23 Family on the Fault Line, Lilian Rubin According to the author, among the structural changes to the economy that most affected American families are The shift from the manufacturing to the service sector The restructuring of the corporate world The competition from the low-wage workers in underdeveloped countries All of the above none of the above Question 2) Reading 23 Family on the Fault Line, Lilian Rubin In describing the myth of ‘America, the nation of equals,’ the author suggests that since “the rules say that everyone comes to the starting line equal, the different results are merely products of individual will and wit.” What does she mean by that? question 3) Reading 24 Middle Class Families in the Age of Insecurity, Arlene Skolnick The author suggests that unemployment seems to be harder on everyone in the family when it is the husband and father who loses his job. Why is that? question 4) Reading 24 Middle Class Families in the Age of Insecurity, Arlene Skolnick The author states that for the middle-class families who suddenly experience economic hardship ‘through no fault of their own,’ their predicament can’t be blamed on bad values or bad choices. What does she mean by that?
please respond to Kamal The best way I can describe why criminal offenses are defined in the penal code by individual elements is so that there isn't any confusion if the laws meaning and to ensure good understanding of what crimes have been committed by a person in court proceedings. Penal codes helps in court because when someone is charged of a crime a prosecutor must prove each element of a crime beyond a reasonable doubt In order to shoe a defendant's guilt in a crime. this kind of approach to how criminal law and crimes are handles can prevent arbitrary prosecutions and can make sure that a defendant is only trying to be punished for things clearly defined in a penal code. And some examples can be shown of how a penal code works and for someone to be charged with violating it, an example I can think of is Penal Code 459.5 which deals with shoplifting for someone to be charged with the misdemeanor crime of shoplifting a prosecutor would have to prove that the defendant violated the parameters of the penal code by entering a business during normal operations hours with intent to steal merchandise from the store valued at 950$ or less. When it comes to what a presumption is in the world of law It is when an assumption is made by a court that something is true until it can be proven otherwise. I think the presumptions are necessary because they can help legal actions in court go much quicker and smoother than the otherwise would without presumptions by showing things as answers or proof until they can be disproven by other evidence. Presumptions are very important in the legal system especially when it comes to ensuring that justice is served fairly. One of the biggest presumptions in our legal systems Is that a defendant is presumed innocent until they can be proven guilty of a crime beyond a reasonable doubt in the courts mind, presumptions can help make sue that people are not unjustly charged with crimes they didn't commit but they can also help ensure that people who committed terrible crimes do not go free and get the punishment they have coming. There are many differences between the different types of presumptions and what each of them mean. When it comes to a rebuttal presumption it essentially means that it lets someone to introduce evidence that goes against a different presumption that has already been made. an example I can think of for this would be when it comes the customer of that someone is presumed innocent in trial until proven guilty by evidence provided by the opposing side. An irrefutable presumptions is a type of presumption that is accepted as fact or that something is true and cannot be disproven by anything. A good example of this is that when a child is under a certain age they are unable to commit a crime or cannot commit a felony and this fact cannot be rebutted. A permissive presumption Is a presumption that can allow but doesn't require the judge or jury to think of something as true based on certain things brought up in the trial. An example I can think of is something like a traffic volition of, maybe running a red light cam or getting a parking ticket for parking somewhere that is not allowed, the permissive presumption could be that the registered owner would be the one at fault for the vision since it is there car but a judge could also choose to make a different presumption on the situations based on certain circumstances like if the owner of the car says it wasn't them driving the car but a friend they lended it to and that they are not at fault. The judge could then ether stick to the previous presumption that the registered owner is at fault or with the new information provided by the owner presume that someone else is possibly at fault instead.
please respond to Wendy with 200 words Criminal offenses are defined in the penal code by individual elements because each case needs clarity, fairness, and consistency. Having different types of elements also will help determine the kind of punishment a person should get. A presumption is an act or an idea that can be seen as the truth. The criminal law tries to use the trust method in the system, to allow society to tell the truth during their case. This is necessary when cases that do not have any or enough evidence will go based on what they are being told. This also helps with making a decision, based on common sense or last experiences. A rebuttable presumption can prove a person's innocence with their evidence or witnesses. I see rebuttable more as a fact check in this case. If someone has evidence against a person, the accused can have evidence that disproves it. An example that helped me understand this was a mother who had a baby and stated that her husband is the father. However, the father knows other men who will testify against the mother stating they may be the father of the baby. This will help disprove the mother's theory that her husband may or may not be the child’s father. An irrebuttable presumption is direct evidence that cannot be disproven; it's hard to disprove that someone did not commit the crime without intention. Cases like these will tend to have a beyond of reasonable doubt. An example of this is a husband who may have murdered his wife which he loved dearly. A case like this may not be easy to solve if there is no proof of them ever having any marital issues and only has proof of loving his wife. Even with a party statement about their marriage, the case can still be lost. A permissive presumption is when a jury can make their own decision regardless of what the evidence states. A situation like this can be a person purchasing a car without ever getting the pink slip. The person who purchased the car may have been lied to about losing the pink slip, not knowing the car was stolen. The jury can decide whether the person is guilty of purchasing a stolen car that he may or may not have known was stolen. Regardless of what evidence may have been used in court, in the end, it would all depend on the jury.
