For the third part of your final project, you will expand on your three summaries. Your goal is to move beyond the individualistic explanations for certain behavior trends that you observed and to offer a thoughtful discussion on the role the larger social factors and institutions that helped shape these trends. Think of it as trying to understand why whole groups or categories of people (HS students, Latina women, White men, 9th graders who drink, etc, etc) behave in certain ways or engage in certain behaviors more or less than others. Please identify one reading per trend that helps you understand what social processes are at work. The readings could come from your text or from any other appropriate scholarly source. For each of your three trends, write at least l page of summary, incorporating the information you reported for part 2. In that summary, please include a brief discussion of your reading/source as it helps you understand the trends. Finally, please offer a 1-2 page reflection on the role that family as an institution plays in affecting or mediating risky behaviors that the Youth Survey respondents engage in. A couple of pointers -- this part of your project is not a second draft of Part 2, so please don’t copy your trend write-ups verbatim, as they appeared in part 2. By all means, incorporate the factual information, but do it in a creative way. I will expect this paper to be well written, spell checked and checked for grammar. Include a bibliography of your sources and be very particular about attributing your sources – if you are using somebody else’s words in your summaries, you have to give credit. All rules for plagiarism apply. Part 3 is due on December 20, should be 4-5 pages long, and is worth 100 points out of your final grade.

This individual can be one of the following: A specific historical example (e.g., Mahatma Gandhi, MLK, Bob Marley, Susan B Anthony, etc.) A public figure (e.g., Beyonce, Elon Musk, Taylor Swift) The subject of a detailed news report A fictional character (from literature, film, TV, graphic novels, etc.) Application: Start by giving a brief summary/overview about the individual you have selected. This a should be a (2-4 paragraph) description of the person and should convey who they are or were and offer some key details or highlights about them. Then offer a bit of context. If they are a fictional character or a subject of a news report, contextualize them by briefly explaining (2-4 paragraph) how they fit in to the narrative or story line. Or contextualize the historical or societal setting of which they are a part. Address the above points. please respond to Angela with. 150. words The images i chose for the montage represent me in many ways. I used both images from my camera roll and images from the internet. The ones that come from my camera roll are mostly of my family. Family to me represents me the most because everything I do and the person I am today is because of them. In October I experienced what is true love with the birth of my baby boy and my partner for being there for me during the most vulnerable moment of my entire life. I dream about my future on the daily and a lot of the images I included represent those dreams like graduating, becoming a teacher, getting married, and living in a green place with many pets. I also included redbulls and chiles to represent my love for spicy foods and energy drinks (which are very necessary when you have a newborn). This project was very fun to create because it allowed me to make an art piece that represents me. I love making collages to post on social media so it wasn't something new to me. I liked learning the different apps we could use for this project but I chose what I was most comfortable and what I am most experienced with which was Instagram. Instagram allowed me to stack my photos and change the shapes of the images as well. I've never stacked so many images like this before but it was a very fun process. please respond to Adam with 150. words Hello, everyone! The theme of my collage is based on personal experiences and relationships, which are some of the things that hold dearly to me. The left side describes my background and general interests, and the right side has to do with my aspirations for the future tense. So, going from left to right, you can probably see my grandparents' garden in the top left corner, my dad wearing an U.S. Army uniform, and the rest of my family members and close relatives throughout the left portion towards the middle. Both of my parents, believe it or not, were in the military, but my mom retired upon giving birth to me, and my dad eventually retired in 2014 after many years of service. We then moved to the High Desert from upstate New York following the end of his service. In the picture with my mom, sister, and uncle, we were actually at Niagara Falls, a place my family would visit infrequently along with my Lola's residence, whom I posed a picture with at Disneyland--the more regularly visited attraction out of the two. I identify mainly as Filipino because I'm more familiar with my mom's side of the family than my dad's, which is seen in my graduation picture from this past June at Serrano with my closest family members. Perhaps you can say that I'm a little bit of an overachiever, seeing as I was dressed in gold to symbolize High Honors, and I also earned a local scholarship and Top 10 GPA plaque alongside my friend, Tarik. On the side, you can see my family's Italian Greyhound and Chiweenie, whom we love dearly, and I have an interest in both football and soccer, even attending a preseason Arsenal game back in July. From the middle to the right, the pictures describe my occupation and hopes for the future. Right now, I sweep the floors at Stater Bros., but my goal is to ultimately become a Mechanical Engineer. I wish to pursue this major and career at Cal-Poly Pomona, whom I'm planning to transfer after finishing my prerequisites here at Victor Valley College. Farther in the future, I would like to have the opportunity to travel to various stadiums, including Anfield of Liverpool FC, my favorite soccer team, and Highmark Stadium of the Buffalo Bills. My top vacation spots at the moment are Japan and New Zealand as they both have some nice scenery and cultural landmarks, and if possible, I would be willing to donate to philanthropic causes because I care about the well-being of everyone. I created this collage on the website, Sketchpad, where I pasted images both from my personal device and FaceBook along with free-to-use images from the eligible image providers. From there, I was able to layer some pictures over others and rotate them slightly to make the collage more dynamic. I am familiar with the software used to create this collage as I have used it many times in the past, but I don't recall making a collage from my faint memory. I thought that this was a good exercise to practice my digital art skills, and I hope everyone else feels the same.
