BUS 409 - Week 10 Discussion - Pay and Benefits Outside the United States Part 1 Respond to the following: If you were asked to work in another country, which country would you choose and why? What type of benefit(s) would be most important to you in this country? Support your response with specific examples. Part 2 Post at least one substantive comment to another student's post (Rochelle B.) Good afternoon, Professor and classmates, When considering the optimal country for employment outside of the United States of America, several factors must be evaluated, including opportunities for employment, work-life equilibrium, healthcare, quality of life, and cost of living. Some frequently selected destinations for overseas employment include Canada, Australia, Germany, and the United Kingdom. Different individuals may prioritize diverse benefits but expected significant benefits could encompass healthcare coverage, work-life equilibrium, competitive remuneration, prospects for career advancement, and a safe and stable environment.  If presented with the option to work in another nation, I would select Canada. Canada offers excellent work-life equilibrium, outstanding healthcare coverage, and a safe and stable environment. The natural beauty and diverse culture also make it an attractive relocation choice. Canada is also geographically proximate, permitting a shortened travel time if a swift return home is necessary. Additionally, a community of pastoral family and friends available could aid in a smooth transition process. The most important benefits for me are healthcare coverage, work-life equilibrium, and opportunities for career advancement. These are crucial factors for a fulfilling and sustainable work experience.

BUS 407 - Week 10 Discussion - Employee Development Part 1 Prepare Watch the scenario below to prepare for this week's discussion: Conclusion. Download a transcript of the video Download transcript of the video. Respond From the discussion preparation scenario, determine two effects of employee development. Part 2 Post at least one substantive comment to another student's post (Latisha H.) Hello Professor and classmates, Two Effects of Employee Development: Improved Performance and Productivity: Employee development initiatives, like the comprehensive training program we developed for Taormina’s call center, lead to enhanced employee performance and productivity. When employees receive proper training, they gain the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their tasks more efficiently and effectively. This directly translates to improved service quality, faster problem resolution, and ultimately, better customer satisfaction. For instance, by addressing the performance gaps through targeted training sessions, we can ensure that call center agents are better equipped to handle customer inquiries, leading to increased sales and customer retention. Increased Employee Engagement and Retention: Another significant effect of employee development is increased engagement and retention. When employees feel that their employer is investing in their growth and development, they are more likely to feel valued and motivated. This sense of appreciation fosters a positive work environment and encourages employees to stay with the company longer. By providing ongoing development opportunities, such as the “Calling for Effective Communication” training, we show our commitment to their professional growth, which can lead to higher job satisfaction and lower turnover rates. Challenges and Growth: Throughout this course, one of the main challenges I faced was identifying and addressing the performance gaps accurately. Initially, it was difficult to pinpoint the specific issues affecting the call center’s performance. However, by performing a thorough needs analysis and considering various performance needs, I was able to gain a clear understanding of the problem. This process taught me the importance of detailed analysis and critical thinking. Another challenge was designing an effective training program within the constraints of a limited budget. Balancing cost control with the need to provide comprehensive and interactive training was not easy. By proposing a lecture/discussion method, we were able to control costs while still providing valuable learning experiences. This experience has strengthened my ability to develop cost-effective solutions without compromising on quality.

College of Business Master of Strategic Leadership Program Contemporary Issues in Leadership Chosen Topic: UAE Healthcare Background Leadership Style: transformational and servant leadership style Leadership defies hierarchical structures, top-down directives, or reliance solely on positional authority, particularly in a cross-cultural context where diversity is celebrated. Accordingly choose a UAE based company and critically analyze: a) How does the chosen leadership style impact leadership effectiveness through prioritizing cross-cultural understanding and adaptability, thereby enhancing organizational sustainability? b) In what ways does this leadership style contribute to attracting and retaining followers by fostering an inclusive and supportive environment, and reinforcing the company's commitment to cross-cultural collaboration and sustainability initiatives? 1. At the heart of every high-performing team lies a foundation built on effective communication and cohesion. It is through open channels of communication, shared goals, and mutual respect that these teams are able to harness the collective intelligence and creativity of their members. By fostering a culture of collaboration and trust, they navigate through challenges, capitalize on opportunities, and achieve remarkable feats that surpass individual capabilities. • Literature Review The selected leadership style (specify the one perceived to be employed by the company) and its impact on fostering cross-cultural understanding and adaptability, thereby enhancing organizational sustainability. The chosen leadership approach (specify the one perceived to be utilized by the company) and its contribution to attracting and retaining followers, and the role of cultivating an inclusive, supportive, and cross-cultural environment in this process. • UAE Healthcare Background Despite these advancements, the healthcare sector in the UAE faces significant challenges, particularly in the management and coordination of health records and information. Fragmentation of interoperability in health information systems have hindered seamless data sharing and integration among healthcare providers, leading to inefficiencies and gaps in patient care. According to recent statistics from the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP, 2020), only a fraction of healthcare facilities in the UAE have fully implemented electronic health records (EHRs), highlighting the need for a comprehensive and unified approach to health information management. • Project Description and Objective Given the challenges faced by the healthcare system in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), coupled with the opportunities presented by advancements in technology, there is a compelling need to establish a comprehensive national health records tracking system. This proposed system, tentatively we propose to name it "Al Shifaa" system, aims to address the fragmentation and lack of interoperability in current health information systems, as well as leverage technology to enhance healthcare delivery and public health outcomes in the UAE. Project Value and Mission The revolutionary idea of the proposed "Al Shifaa" system aligns closely with UAE vision to be one of the leading countries in technology and innovation, especially in critical industries like the healcare sector. Applying this system will be one of its kind worldwide, and will revolutionize the traditional healthcare business model. This system will reflect the government's commitment to excellence, innovation, and the well-being of its residents. By establishing a comprehensive national health records tracking system, the project aims to uphold the following core values: Quality Healthcare: Ensuring access to high-quality healthcare services for all residents, regardless of their socio-economic status or geographic location, is a fundamental value of the UAE healthcare system. The "Al Shifaa" system seeks to enhance the quality and effectiveness of healthcare delivery by providing timely access to accurate health information and enabling personalized care. Innovation: Embracing innovation and technological advancement is central to the UAE's vision for the future. The "Al Shifaa" system represents a pioneering initiative that harnesses the power of artificial intelligence (AI), data analytics, and digital health technologies to transform healthcare delivery, improve patient outcomes, and drive efficiency in the healthcare system. Data-driven Decision Making: Leveraging data to inform decision-making and policy formulation is a cornerstone of the UAE's approach to governance and public service delivery. The "Al Shifaa" system will generate valuable insights and actionable intelligence derived from real-time health data analysis, enabling evidence-based decision-making and proactive healthcare management.
