DECOLONIZATION DISCUSSION All the policies regarding discussions apply. Why did decolonization present a new set of challenges to many global regions? What made that process and then the years of independence following it so difficult? What role did the U.S. have in this, and how does that affect how we interact with those regions today? This draws on this module but also the ones preceding it. Be attentive to what you need to think about in writing it.
Write about a 1 to 1 1/2 page (double spaced--12 point font) essay in which you defend or denounce the actions of Esther, Shiphrah, and Puah. The essay should incorporate your thinking on civil disobedience, just as practiced by the heroines above and Rev. MLK, Jr. Spoiler alert from the Professor: Civil disobedience can never by legally sanctioned. However, is there a higher (moral) standard that should be followed even to point that one is willing to accept the consequences of his/her actions? After all didn't Queen Esther (known as Hadassah to her friends), say "I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.” Need more help, read the Letter from the Birmingham Jail, which I highly recommend you do. Google it.

Hi I am in a group project in which we are writing a powerpoint presenation on The Experience of Armenian Peoples Modern History. My topic focuses on Armenians under Ottoman rule and should be 5 slides worth of information. The slide should include: Solid amount of research and effort shown (information matters the most) from PRIMARY SOURCES Images of primary documents I must include Özkan, S. H. (2020). Reasons for Migration of Armenians in the Ottoman Empire before 1915. African and Asian Studies, 19(3), 282-305 as one of my primary documents due to it being apart of a previous assignment in relation to this project, (I attached the previous paper for you) The slides should be 5 slides, have a paragraph + on each slide, put as much information as you can. My teacher wasn't clear with the word count, however she did clarify that she wants a lot of information and effort shown.
Include at least one slide each for bands, for tribes, for chiefdoms, and for states. You may include up to three slides for each, if you wish. Do not include more than three slides for each. Each slide or slides for bands, for tribes, for chiefdoms, and for states must include a paraphrase or a quote from the textbook on that form of societal structure and each slide or slides for bands, for tribes, for chiefdoms, and for states must include a real-life example from somewhere in the world. You must choose the real-life example society for bands, for tribes, for chiefdoms, and for states from the named examples mentioned in the Week 5 textbook reading (CHAPTER 7). Fully explain, in detail, why the real-world example is, indeed, an example of a band, a tribe, a chiefdom, or a state. Make the presentation visually appealing. If you include images, be sure to cite them and list their full reference entry citation in the reference slide. Do not crowd too much text per slide. Use bullet points or shortened phrases, as needed, so as to avoid overcrowding sides with text. The slide presentation, including the title slide and reference slide, should be 8 to 14 slides, no more and no less. You do not need to include “presenter notes” nor audio or video of any kind for this assignment. If you have never created a PowerPoint before, the attached job aide may be helpful to you: CreatingPowerPointSlide.pdf

Choose an article you would like to write about. Remember this is a political science class. You can choose more than one if you like. Your essay should include a brief background (very brief) and, an analysis of the article your read. Keep in mind, I am looking for an analysis of the article –NOT A SUMMARY. Is the author biased? Is there a slant? Was the author objective? Is the author pushing an agenda? Do you agree or disagree? Why? Things to avoid: Avoid too many quotes. I am looking for your outlook and analysis. I don't want a simple summary of the articles. I suggest you try to find articles expressing different points of view. For instance, the New York Times and Wall Street Journal will have two very different perspectives on the same topic. I don't know where most of you stand on politics, but in order to make this exercise more beneficial, I encourage you to look up the opposite points of your own. For instance if you lean left, look up some conservative opinions. If you are more conservative look into a more liberal perspective.

What was "detente" and what was "containment" - how did these terms relate to the Cold War, and who was George Kennan? Again, don't hunt and peck for answers. Know the overall context of the Cold War. 4. What were the McCarthy hearings of 1954 and did they symbolize the end of McCarthy's reign? 5. In what ways were Truman's and Eisenhower's foreign policies similar? How did they differ? Look at domestic and international policies.
We've all heard of the so-called 'paleolithicLinks to an external site.' or 'cavemanLinks to an external site.' diet, which has recently morphed (with TikTok's help) into a 'carnivoreLinks to an external site. crazeLinks to an external site..' In a nutshell, the perennial fad involves eating a lot of meat. The archaeological and ethnographic records (which we've studied) indicate that this is not really how people in the paleolithic ate. What is the evidence and what does it tell us about how people really subsisted?
