Description This assignment has two parts - Part 1 is the Leadership Interview (described below) and Part 2 is Organizational Analysis (described below). It should be submitted as one document. LEADERSHIP INTERVIEW: Set up an interview with someone that you think has demonstrated effective leadership. It could be your Supervisor, Director, Business Owner, Principal, or Assistant Principal, for example. Using your textbook and other readings, formulate at least 10 questions that would give your insight into why he/she does certain things (as opposed to what he/she does). Although you may ask about responsibilities and tasks, you want to delve into the leadership philosophy that drives the actions. In your paper, state who you interviewed, a little bit about him/her, and why you chose this person. Then, you may summarize your questions and responses in narrative form, or you may write your questions followed by the responses (which can be paraphrased). Conclude with a summary by responding to these questions: What did you learn from this experience? What dominant leadership style does your interviewee have? What effective leadership characteristics were most evident during your interview? Did you hear of successful strategies that you will incorporate into your leadership style? ORGANIZATIONAL ANALYSIS: Following the interview, you should have an even stronger understanding of the leadership and the organizational philosophy of this particular work setting. Prepare a brief analysis of your organization's effectiveness. Use these questions to guide your thinking: How is your work setting organized (often there is a formal organization and an informal organization)? Is power shared? How are decisions made? Do you see evidence of principle-centered leadership in your workplace? What are the strengths and weaknesses of your organization? What improvements might you suggest?

Description This should be approached from a systems perspective, looking at significant features in each facet of your development biologically, psychologically, socially, and culturally. The emphasis in this assignment is on understanding your own story of development through the application of developmental frameworks, and not on self-disclosure per se. This paper need not be confessional and you should not self-disclose any information about which you are uncomfortable. This assignment has a direct bearing on the ethical practice of social work.  Social workers are obligated to take responsibility for their own ethical conduct and to seek opportunities for continuous growth.  Self-awareness, including clarification of personal values, and knowledge of personal development are essential to these activities.  Do not simply write a narrative of your life.  This is an analytical paper with a clear conceptual framework.  You may discuss yourself in the third person if you wish.  You will need to decide on a structure for this paper and may draw on various developmental frameworks we have read and discussed. For example, you might use a family systems perspective to frame your discussion of your development or any of the theories we cover in class. Comment, in addition, on how risks or vulnerability and resiliency and protective factors may have influenced your development.

Description For this week's discussion, please respond to the following: The two most important issues at the Constitution were representation and power. Recently these are again at the forefront as we experienced what many historians call a constitutional crisis with the expansion of presidential power versus the power of Congress, and the failure or limits of constitutional checks and balances. We have also seen challenges to the rule of law (ex. Jan 6 capitol), and debates over constitutional interpretation (Texas limits on abortion rights). Clearly our Constitution remains critical to who we are. Respond to the following: What are the most important powers of Congress and the President, and what do you think are the most important "checks and balances?" Be specific. Why did the founders fear both unlimited executive power and unruly, uninformed citizens?

Description Assigned podcast title: Dephi Murder Abby and Libby (Delphi Daughters) Create a true crime podcast! You will tell me your groups beforehand so I can record for grading purposes. Below are the steps to creating your podcast. Read through this carefully before beginning to make sure you include the necessary components.I. Research: Conduct in-depth research on the chosen case, considering various credible sources. Take notes, gather evidence, and develop a comprehensive understanding of thecase's details and context. I recommend listening to podcasts or documentaries ifavailable, but make sure you go to their sources (for podcasts, typically listed in the shownotes). This may require you to do a bit of reading! Your information should ALL have citations. None of this is common information.a. One specific requirement is to tie in at least one major concept discussed in class/the book/assigned readings. You should AT MINIMUM cite the book/other assigned readings. However, you are encouraged to find other research, preferably published in the last 5 years, that supports your concept. You may need to go slightly more in depth about the concept than what was discussed in class. GoogleScholar and Databases on the Library’s website (e.g., PsycInfo and Scopus) aremy top two research article choices. b. In total you should have at least 5 sources.c. You DO need to include a references page with your citations in APA format.i. Purdue Owl’s website is a great resource for help with APA formatting. You will be graded on this, so make sure you pay attention to therequirements.d. Examples of information to include (not an exhaustive list):i. Perpetrator’s nameii. Perpetrator’s relevant childhood history if available (e.g., abuse, head traumas, bullying, moving schools, witnessed violence, arrest history)iii. Career iv. Family info if relevant (e.g., dating history, are they married/divorced, # ofkids)v. Chronological account of the crime(s) (including dates)1. Victim’s names, descriptionsvi. How they were apprehendedvii. What they were charged with viii. If convicted or not. ix. How the concept learned in class tied in – you should explain what theconcept is and then how it impacted/played out in your case – act like you are teaching me this topic for the first time II. Scriptwriting: Create a detailed script for your podcast episode. Organize your content logically, ensuring a clear and engaging narrative flow. If you are doing this in partners, it is recommended you have some banter/relevant conversation. Try to make this as natural as possible. You will specify who is saying what in the script if you have partners from in class (YOU DO NOT HAVE TO INCLUDE BANTER IN THE SCRIPT). Include relevant quotes, interviews (if available), and background information to provide depth to your storytelling. If you use direct quotes, you need to say that in your script (e.g., you would say: In the book “On the Farm” by Stevie Cameron, she says quote “insert quote”end quote.”)a. I would HIGHLY recommend reading this either aloud to yourself or with your partner for flow and for rehearsal. You want your recording to be as smooth as possible. Writing for writing purposes and writing for reading aloud purposes can sound different. By reading it aloud you can see if it flows or if something sounds clunky. You should also practice how you sound (e.g., tone, volume). You want tospeak in a way that is engaging, not monotoned.b. If you’re doing this with an external friend – you are required to present ALL information about the case, they are only allowed to banter/comment. You do not have to script the banter and your script should flow independently of the banter(i.e., the banter is a nice addition but if it was not there your script would still make sense).III. Your podcast should be between 20-40 minutes.

Secondary sources must be scholarly, not popular. (No websites unless that’s how you’ve accessed a scholarly journal) 4. Your paper will include both in-text (or parenthetical) citations and a Works Cited page. The Works Cited will not be included in your word count.
