Write a 6-8 page essay on a text, film, or cultural artifact of your choice. Your task is to analyze your chosen object of study using one or more of the poststructuralist theoretical paradigms you have studied. You are free to draw on the basic theories with which a literary theory course typically begins (New Criticism, Reader Response, and Structuralism), but the essay must show sustained engagement with the subsequent theoretical approaches. You may write on a primary text from class or choose something entirely different: a novel, a film, a poem, a painting, or an interesting object. Title your essay and number the pages.
