Week 8 - Assignment: Compose Literature Review Hide Folder Information Instructions Continue to work on your draft based on the requirements listed in your ADE Proposal and Manuscript Template (school-specific) and the feedback and direction provided by your Chair. Do NOT submit your draft to the Doctoral Record until instructed to do so by your Chair. If you are not yet the literature review subsection, continue to work towards it in accordance with your Chair’s feedback. Using the outline created in Week 7, you will use scaffolding for developing your literature review. To conduct a literature review, you need to critically analyze your Doctoral Project or Dissertation-in-Practice topic from a scientific and objective perspective. You need to clearly identify the strengths and weaknesses of multiple perspectives and synthesize the existing literature into a cohesive view of the existing situation. In a doctoral project, the literature review involves more than describing or reporting on each topic. Instead, you will focus on developing a balanced, integrative, and critical review of the body of scholarly, professional, or industry literature, academic and industry, as it relates to the identified problem, while ensuring all perspectives are included. Rather than choosing resources that only support your identified problem or your assertions about the problem (which is convergence), you must also address those resources that present different points of view about the problem (this is divergence). Addressing divergent viewpoints is sometimes referred to as refuting an argument or assertion because you explain why the viewpoint is inaccurate, invalid, unreliable, or irrelevant to the problem. In creating your literature review, you want to present a holistic view of the literature with both convergent and divergent resources. Remember that the ASC and Academic Writer, both accessible from the course menu, provide numerous resources to help you refine your work. Remember to address all feedback provided by your Chair from the previous drafts of Section 1 prior to submitting your latest work. Length: Check your ADE Proposal and Manuscript Template (school-specific) for guidance about the length of the literature review. (Remember to use citations within the text and include the full, APA-formatted references in the Reference subsection.) References: All citations must have corresponding references in correct APA format. These references eventually will be included in the References section of the completed ADE Proposal and Manuscript Template (school-specific). Be sure to adhere to Northcentral University's Academic Integrity Policy. As directed by your Chair and at least once each week, upload your document and click the Submit to Dropbox button.
