Week 3 Discussion 1 Introduction Transformational leadership has arguable become the most popular leadership style in today's business world. Lussier & Achua (2016) suggested that traits include positivity and that it effects organizational performance, culture. and learning. Week 3, Discussion1, explores what differentiates transformational leadership from other leadership styles. Be sure to read Chapter 9 of your textbook in preparation for this discussion. Initial Post Instructions For this week's discussion, identify the similarities and differences between transformational style and at least two additional styles, such as transactional, charismatic, etc. Select the style that best represents your personal leadership style? What specific traits do you feel are most important of each style? Are there any other styles that better fits you and your goals, professionally or personally (i.e. Servant Leadership, etc.)? Additionally, discuss if you ever worked for a leader that has impacted you and if so how and why. What characteristics of this leader did you find most useful in working with him/her? Be specific. Secondary Posts Instructions For responses, consider your classmates initial posts and answer the following: Explain the four steps to transformation and if it is possible with your classmates' initial posts. Include a leadership researcher that has impacted your perspective. Writing Requirements • In addition to one initial post, respond to at least two peers. • Initial Post Length: minimum of 350 words • Secondary Post Length: minimum of 200 words per post • Use APA format for in-text citations and list of references. • Must include at minimum 1 scholarly references that is not the textbook. Tips for Success At the start of our course, it is critical to focus on expectations listed. The minimum at the graduate level will earn an 80% score. An A represents complex analysis and demonstration of understanding. Courses are very fast paced and require strong time management skills. Finally, restating readings does not achieve the goal. Instead, you must include scholarly references to illustrate this next level of learning.
