A review of the literature also helps to identify the strength of the research (its level of evidence) as well as recommendations for future research. The matrix is an Excel spreadsheet that helps you organize information from the articles you selected. This brief description of the spreadsheet will make more sense if you watch the Overview of the Literature Review Matrix first! Row 1: This line includes the topic headings in each column. You do not need to edit this line. Row 2: Each column provides a brief explanation of the content you should include in each column. Rows 3 and 4: Row 3 shows how to document a qualitative research article, and row 4 shows content for a quantitative article. Rows 6-11 are the space where you will document the information pertaining to five selected references. There is space for one article/row in the spreadsheet.
