Substance abuse Miami Florida  If a needs assessment exists, then you can use that information to design your health promotion/disease prevention program. You may want to check with local public health departments to determine if the information you need is available.  If you plan to conduct a pre- and post-test, please plan to put your findings into table format and/or graph within your paper. This is good practice for your future work in public health or education! The program you design must be within the norm for the standards of care and pose minimal risk to participants.  Creativity and expansive thinking are encouraged in the development and implementation of the health promotion/disease prevention program. For instance, some sites may not have the ability to display a PowerPoint to the group and handouts and/or a poster presentation may be more appropriate. For planning how the time for the presentation will be used, use the lesson plan format provided in Blackboard or one you are familiar with for a detailed plan.  Ideally you will conduct your project face to face, but in some instances and for some groups, a virtual presentation may be preferred by the group you are working with since many have become more comfortable with virtual presentations due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Students can use the MCPHS Zoom platform at no charge https://is.mcphs.edu/software/zoom  For virtual projects, please record the meeting and share a link to a recording of the session as the implementation part of your portfolio. You should notify the group you will be recording and tell them they can turn off their camera and change their screen name if they prefer to remain anonymous. You may want to give them these instructions prior to the meeting. Emphasize the recording will only be for assessment of your project and not shared outside class.
