SSUES IN HEALTH - KIN 2305 Career Paper PURPOSE: The purpose of this assignment is to give you an opportunity to take a very close look at your chosen profession from every health dimension and to integrate critical thinking regarding topics covered in the course. It is beneficial for you to research and understand the benefits and challenges of this profession to determine if you will be able to remain healthy in each dimension. STRUCTURE OF WRITTEN ASSIGNMENT: 1. Introduction (no abstract required) ? Introduce your chosen career. o why you are looking at this particular career? o what influences helped you make this decision? o Remember to include an introduction to the content of the paper as well as a thesis statement or statement of purpose – what am I going to read about in this paper? 2. Using the Dimensions as Sub-headings (***NEW THIS YEAR) ? Use “Physical Health”, “Emotional Health” etc, as the subheadings, and under each one explain: o What are the common issues (challenges – positive or negative) within this dimension of health in this profession? Remember to refer to topics/issues mentioned or covered in detail within the course. o What does the literature say about the chosen issue? This is a RESEARCH paper on your career not an opinion paper. o What will you specifically do to recognize and respond to the issues (should be evidence of critical thinking, mandatory course content examples, reflective thought). The paper is about YOU in the career, not just about the career. o It must be evident that you have discussed two different issues under each dimension o You must write about each of the seven dimensions 4. Personal Impact: ? This is your conclusion. Reflect on your experience with researching and writing this paper. Discuss: o How has this exercise in critical thinking impacted you regarding your eventual professional career? o How has it impacted your personal perception of health? ? This portion should be about ¼ of a page in length FORMAT OF WRITTEN ASSIGNMENT: 7th edition APA Format ?
