Research Proposal Part II: Literature Review For Part II, you are going to use the outline from Part I to write your introduction, also known as a literature review. Objective: To continue the process of writing a full-fledged APA style research paper and proposal. Instructions: The introduction is akin to the research papers that you are probably used to writing in your social science classes. It mostly involves summarizing the current state of the literature on the topic that you chose. Introductions do not necessarily review all of the literature that has ever been done on a topic, but they do explain the topic to your reader in a relatively comprehensive way. Here, I would like you to write a 5-7 paper that will ultimately serve as your introduction for your full-fledge research paper and proposal. Think of it as your first draft. Using your outline, I would like to see three major sections of your introduction: Introducing the Topic in Connection to the UNSDGs (1-2 pages): Explain the issue you are examining and why it is significant. In other words, why should people care about this issue? Also, explain how your issue connects to one or multiple of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Background/Review of the Literature (2-4 pages): A description of what is already known about this area and short discussion of why the background studies are not sufficient. You must review the 6 required sources in detail. As you summarize your sources, try to also synthesize the sources by putting them in conversation with each other. Rationale of Your Study (1-2 pages): Specify the research question you are examining and explain the importance of the topic. Explain how your proposal is filling the gap in literature that you discovered. Define your hypothesis. State your research question. Explain how your study builds on previous research and how it complements existing information. You need to indicate how your study is novel compared to previous works. If it duplicates an existing study, you should then explain what the purpose of the duplication is: are you checking the results, or perhaps testing a different population? State your hypothesis. Feel free to use anything that you wrote for your annotated bibliography or outline. Remember, this research proposal is considered one assignment so you are not plagiarizing yourself. Tasks: 1. Using one of the Lynn University Library Databases (i.e. Academic Search Ultimate, ProQuestion Central, etc.), find at least 3 more scholarly articles/books chapters that you will use to write your introduction and subsequent sections.. (Note: You are required to have at least 6 scholarly sources for this project). a.
