Project 8.1 Building an IT Management Framework-Submit APA style. references page APA style APA format (font size 12 point, Times New Romans, double spaced, 1” margins, reference list, title page, running head cover page) Barton hung up the telephone. His success at IVK had caught the interest of CIO magazine, and he had just been interviewed by one of the magazine's senior editors. During the interview, she asked Barton about his "philosophy of CIO leadership." By the end of the interview, Barton had agreed to put together a "primer" describing his ideas, to be published as a special insert in the magazine and presented at an annual conference sponsored by the magazine. The editor had even suggested Barton develop the primer into a book on IT management. "Me as the author of a book on IT management?" he mused. "The irony is thick! "But as he glanced up at his whiteboard, he thought he could do it. Barton needed help figuring out how to define or depict his IT leadership framework. Still, he and the editor had discussed some of the possible components of a framework: Statements of general Principles to apply to management decisions. Specifications of key Processes to use to ensure good outcomes. Descriptions of Organizational Arrangements and Administrative Systems likely to lead to better performance and more value creation. Plans of Action to use in certain circumstances (e.g., crises). Statements of Contingency: Explanation of when and where to apply Principles, Processes, Plans, etc., and when they should not be applied. Checklists of items or questions that, once addressed (and ticked off), might indicate that you could be confident of the quality of your management process. The magazine only had a limited amount of space for this feature and suggested that Barton keep the text of his framework description to 10 pages. This meant Barton and the editor agreed that he needed to pick and choose details to emphasize aspects of the framework that he considered most important. Instructions Drawing on the Adventures book, Barton's whiteboard, other materials from the course, and your management ideas developed during this course, create a framework for successful CIO leadership that Barton might make for inclusion in the magazine feature. Your framework can use Principles, Processes, Organizational Arrangements, Administrative Systems, Plans, Contingency Statements, Checklists, Risk Management, and any other forms that might be useful. Still, it can use some of these. For example, you may use diagrams or other forms of visual representation to explain your framework. The framework should be between 8 – 10 pages of body content (i.e., do not include the title and references pages in the page count). Please check your assignment before submitting. Ensure that: There are no spelling errors. Sentences are grammatically correct. There are no word contractions such as can’t and won’t. You have used complete sentences and good sentence structure.
