The purpose of this assessment is to explain the data collection methods and instruments for your project . As you collect data for your project, take care not to deviate from your IRB-approved plan. You may not change your data collection methods without IRB approval. Similarly, it is imperative that you follow your IRB-approved doctoral project proposal/research plan as you collect your data. Failure to do so is considered noncompliance and may result in sanctions; typically, the IRB will not let you use any data collected. Introductory content before any Level 1 headings. It might be useful to provide some brief background information on your project and its context. This section is a summary of your project as it will be added to your final paper. This information should only be two or three paragraphs at most. Design and Instrumentation Explain the project design and the methods you used for collecting data. Explains the design of the doctoral project, supporting design choices with reference to the literature or best practices. Explains IRB-approved data collection methods for the doctoral project, illustrating how collection methods align with project design. The methods you describe must be reliable and have been previously approved by the IRB. If you used any tools or instruments (SBIRT - AUDIT), explain their validity and reliability, citing support from the literature as relevant. If an external tool was used, note the permission to use the tool and cite the tool appropriately. Any internal tools proven valid and reliable should be submitted in an appendix. Formative Evaluation (if applicable) Confounding Variables (if applicable) Follow APA format, everything must have in-text citation, all references must have doi,  Do not use personal opinion or adjectives, as per my professor that is bias As per the MAT Manager, The referral rate in Banyan Health System is obtained by external sources using direct call, there are no policy or process established for the providers to screen and then refer patients to MAT in Banyan Health System. That is the main reason why we are implementing this project, to increase the referral to MAT by the Community mental health providers. So at this point the referral rate to MAT by providers is Zero (0), only those patient that request Alcohol medication as (Vivitrol or Naltrexone) or come from outside Banyan (external referral) will have an appointment scheduled for an MAT evaluation. Will attach the other documents and the Data recollected (6 weeks of implementation from the 12 weeks planned) the providers training and pre training test and post training test data will be in the excel documented submitted. A pre training test was applied to the 7 providers, then the live training using a power point presentation with group discussion was done and a post training test was applied.  The SBIRT was implemented: Screening - 1) Pre Screening Question (Do you consume alcohol?) to all patients, those with a positive response apply the AUDIT Screening, according to the score the provider will do a Brief intervention regarding Alcohol use Disorder, risks and consequences (medical, emotional, social and mental health) and then will decide if a referral to MAT is required. We recommend to all AUDIT Screening positive with a score higher than 16 points to do the referral to MAT, but it the referral also is related to the providers decision and patient's acceptance.

Overview THE REPORT HAS 2 PARTS. PART A COMPRISES 65% OF MARKS. PART B COMPRISES 35% OF MARKS. For Part A, the context of the study is in the instructions, where a different study stated the need for timed urine volume measurement. The data that we processed in the workshop allows us to look for a suitable biomarker that correlates well with urine volume. For Part B, the context of the study is the need to test if a new anti-hypertensive drug can induce a greater reduction in blood pressure than the current drug. Clinical trials are very expensive so we want to recruit the minimum number of participants that is necessary to obtain a valid statistical analysis of any difference in the efficacy of the new drug compared to the current drug. Referencing and abstract, tables and graphs are excluded from the word count. Instructions DURING WORKSHOPS IN WEEK 2, WE ARE CONSIDERING 2 EXPERIMENTAL PROCEDURES (A AND B). Part A already has collected data and is trying to find a urinary analyte that can be used as a marker of urine production rate. Part B estimates the required number of participants for a clinical trial of a new hypertensive treatment. Both Part A and B should be written up as a single scientific report with introduction, aims, hypotheses, results, discussion and conclusions. The methods description only has to describe the data handling (statistical) processes that were performed. Part A - Data variability For this exercise, use the accompanying spreadsheet (Data Spreadsheet) to calculate the mean and standard deviation for each of the variables in this group of participants for each day that they are monitored. The male participants have 24h collections of urine for a number of days in sequence. There is missing data so ensure that you have the correct order of days and parameters. For each excreted parameter, calculate value as an excretion rate/24h  compared to the urine volume for each day. Plot the average data for each parameter (mean value). Use error bars to denote the SD. Put the urinary parameter on the Y axis and the urine volume for each day in sequence on the X axis. Comment on the variability in the data for each parameter and the analytes that correlate best with urinary volume. The context for this exercise is the paper we studied in Workshop 4 which has this statement:We use a rise in the PdG excretion rate (using timed urine samples to correct for fluctuations in urine volume to a universal threshold value of 7.0 mmol/24 h as the hormonal marker for the beginning of the Post Ovulatory Infertile Period. This activity investigates if there is a suitable urinary analyte that can be used  as an estimate of urinary volume over time (ml/min), without the need to time the collection and measure the volume. Part B - Sample Size For ethical and efficiency reasons, it is good practice to determine the minimum number of participants required for valid statistical analysis. This is called a Power calculation and is dependent on a  number of parameters including the variation/range in the population, normal distribution of the elected cohort, the degree of accepted confidence in the test (usually >80%) and the minimum P-value accepted as significant (usually <0.05). A company wants to test if its new formulation X is better than the current drug C. Use the following variables to calculate how many participants are required under the following circumstances:It is known from published studies that the reduction in the blood pressure of hypertensive patients can be regarded as being normally distributed during treatment with both drugs. It is also known that drug C reduces the blood pressure of hypertensive patients by a mean value of about 10 mm Hg. Previous studies indicate that formulation X is more potent than drug C and is predicted to reduce mean blood pressure by about 15 mm Hg. This is regarded as a clinically relevant improvement. Moreover, clinical knowledge suggests that the standard deviation of the reduction in blood pressure with both drugs can be taken as 5 mm Hg.The level of significance is the probability of obtaining a statistically significant test result, even when there is no real difference. This is conventionally taken as 2.5% for one-tailed tests. Nevertheless, other values would be conceivable, depending on the question to be answered. The statistical power is the probability of identifying a real difference with the statistical test and is often taken as 80%. Use the ClinCalc Sample Size Calculator to determine the number of participants required if the predicted difference in the decrease in blood pressure induced by the two drugs  is 4, 5 or 6 mmHg. Repeat the calculation but this time changing the standard deviation to 4, 5 and 6 and keeping the difference in the decrease in blood pressure at 5 mmHg. Tabulate your results for each of the predicted outcomes and comment on the influence of the outcome on the required sample size.
