Last week, I watched this video:  and answered these questions: Lists the topics and/or terms that you recognize from the content presented Some of the topics that I recognize include geological and meteorological causes of landslides, debris flows and safety measures for people residing in landslide-prone regions. The other topics are economic as well as human costs of landslides, technological interventions such the use of nets in a bid to mitigate debris flow impacts and many other topics (Public Broadcasting Corporation, 2021). Describes how people, society, and/or the environment are affected positively by the main issue discussed in this video They are positively affected by the main issue discussed through increased awareness as well as understanding of landslide risks. Such knowledge can play a key role in empowering individuals and communities in a bid to take proactive measures (Public Broadcasting Corporation, 2021). For instance, they can embrace evacuation planning and implement structural interventions so that they can mitigate the effect of landslides and protect their lives and property. Describes how people, society, and/or the environment are affected negatively by the main issue discussed in this video People and society are affected negatively by the loss of lives, property, and infrastructure caused by landslides. These events expose them to tragic consequences. For instance, they are introduced to fatalities and injuries (Public Broadcasting Corporation, 2021). They are also exposed to displacement as well as economic hardship, affecting the well-being and stability of affected communities. Describe, in your own words, what you thought the central message of this video was The key message is emphasizing the critical significance of recognizing and addressing landslide risks in vulnerable regions. It intends to play a pivotal role in convincing the viewers to embrace urgent proactive measures so that they can mitigate the devastating effects of landslides. Some of these measures include evacuation planning and structural interventions. Besides, the video stresses the importance of ongoing education as well as preparedness efforts to safeguard communities against future disasters. Discusses whether you agree with the speaker’s central message or disagree with the speaker’s central message AND why I agree with the speaker's central message given that it plays a critical role in emphasizing the significance of proactive measures in mitigating landslide risks.  First of all, it enhances community awareness. This is vital for efficient disaster response. Moreover, it highlights the importance of collaborative efforts between authorities and residents  Lists two questions that came to mind while you were watching this video 1. This assignment is a capital budgeting case with an extra twist in which you also need to figure out the firm's cost of capital. This involves a step-by-step process in which you will calculate the cost of debt, the cost of equity, and the weights of debt and equity. (Note that the firm uses short-term debt in the form of a revolving line of credit, which has a particular interest rate, as well as long-term debt, which has a different yield.) Please show your work in an excel spreadsheet that uses cell references and formulas. In calculating the cost of equity, you can use CAPM. You will need to find beta, which can be done by regressing the returns for the company on the market returns over the same period. That is, the company's returns would be the dependent variable, and the market returns will be the independent variable. The slope of this regression is the beta for the company, similar to slides 19 & 20 in the Risk_Return slides. You can find the beta using a shortcut in excel, with the SLOPE function. You can look up the slope function (=slope) in excel for the exact inputs (which are the company returns and the market returns, which are given in the case). The slope calculated in excel will be the beta to be used in CAPM to find the cost of equity. Here is the case:

Research Question What are the factors contributing to the rising levels of antibiotic resistance in the U.S and how can this health issue be mitigated? This week, you will submit a draft poster presentation of your theoretical research study. Your final project is based upon the work you've done all semester. This project is the culmination of your research question, your literature reviews, your sampling methods and study design, as well as your questions from your questionnaire. Each weekly assignment adds to your final project. All of that information should be included on the poster. Restate your research question. List and include your sampling/methods, questionnaire and other relevant elements from previous weeks' assignments. Choose a professional association with an upcoming conference and determine the requirements for a poster presentation. Here are some examples of associations for which you can review their conference poster presentation requirements: APIC http://www.apic.org/ IDSA https://www.idsociety.org/ SHEA http://www.shea-online.org/ ID Week http://www.idweek.org/ APHA https://www.apha.org/ AACN http://www.aacn.org/ AORN http://www.aorn.org/ If you have other healthcare associations that you prefer to use, that is fine, too. For the selected association, determine how well your poster presentation meets their requirements, and discuss this in your Week 8 video presentation. Create a draft submission for the conference you choose using one of these poster templates: Poster Template 1 Poster Template 2 Poster Template 3 Be sure that your poster is easily readable and visually appealing with engaging graphical elements such as graphs or figures. It is easiest to create the poster in Powerpoint - as one slide; use one of the templates provided, but feel free to arrange the content as you see fit. The more content you include from your assignments, your text readings, and even the NIH online training course, the better. Your poster presentation must follow APA formatting and citation. This week’s assignment is a draft submission of your final signature assignment. Sample Poster 1 Sample Poster 2
