What I do: I am currently a teacher of children ages two and three. I am also a part-time student at VVC. And, I am a full-time single mom to a boy age 7 and, a girl age 1. My special skills: My special skills include having a lot of patience. My favorite special skill is that when it comes to electronics I like to mess around with them to figure out how they work, I mess around with the softwares on them as well to see what I can do with them.  What I like: I like being a teacher. I really enjoy watching kids go through different developmental milestones and; being the person who helped them get through them. This is also why I like being a mom because, I get to enjoy watching my own children grow and develop as well.  My hobby is: Watching a movie or a show with my son while we guiltily enjoy movie theater popcorn. My favorite food: Torn between pupupas and tamales. My favorite place to be: Either at home with my kids or, out doing some kind of outing with my kids. As long as my kids are with me I am in my favorite place.

Multi question  Part 1:  Ethical Dilemma Infographic As a school counselor, you may be faced with ethical dilemmas on a regular basis. Therefore, it is essential that school counselors demonstrate an understanding of ethical standards and legal mandates by using decision-making models. Using the “Solutions to Ethical Problems in Schools” decision-making model located in the topic resources, consider the following case study: https://www.schoolcounselor.org/Magazines/November... You are working as a middle school counselor and Student A (pseudonym may be used in place of Student A) requests to see you. During this individual meeting, Student A shares they have a concern about their friend, Student B (pseudonym may be used in place of Student B). Specifically, Student A shared that Student B has been self-harming and last night Student B sent alarming text messages via a group chat. Student A is concerned that Student B is suicidal. Student A and other friends in the group chat all encouraged Student B to tell their parents and come to the counseling office as Student B arrived at school. However, Student A shares that Student B is not in attendance at school. Consider the professional and ethical obligations you have as a school counselor receiving this information from Student A. Consult ASCA’s Ethical Standards for School Counselors when completing this assignment. Using the “Ethical Dilemma Infographic” template, located in the topic resources, elaborate on each of the nine steps pertaining to the ethical dilemma of the case study: Defining the problem emotionally and intellectually Applying the ASCA ethical code and the legal issues Considering the student’s chronological and developmental levels Considering the setting, parental rights and minor’s rights Applying the moral principle Determining a potential course of action and its consequences Evaluating the selected action Consulting with peers Implementing the selected course of action While APA format is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected, and in-text citations and references should be presented using APA documentation guidelines Part 2:  Duties of a School Counselor Using the ASCA “Use of Time Calculator,” document track your time for two days at your practicum site. Tasks and time are broken down into the following categories: Direct Student Services, Indirect Student Services, Program Planning and School Support, and Non-School Counseling Tasks. After time tracking your duties for two days, write a 250-word reflection on the following prompts: Describe where was most of your time spent. Explain if your findings align with ASCA’s recommendations for appropriate use of time and duties for school counselors. Discuss what is working well based on your findings from the time tracker. Discuss what areas the counseling department needs to consider for improvement based on the findings from your completed time tracker.

Part 1) Reading assignment -RA1:This RA is based on ch.1, Families Past and Present. For this part you’ll need to log into my Blackboard account then go to the class, sociology of the family and then click on reading assignments. Here’s my information: username: IANDRY.SOTO95@login.cuny.edu, password: Iandry12 Part 2) Family is one of the most prominent societal institutions and as an institution, it performs some crucial societal functions. Typically, researchers recognize a few major and a number of minor functions. First - families serve to replenish society with new, socialized members. Second, they provide the emotional stability to the family members. Third, families provide economic support for their members. In addition to these major functions of replacement, emotional stability and economic support, other functions of the family include physical care (care for children and aging parents, as well as sick spouses), regulation of sexual behavior (expectation that spouses confine their sexual behavior to each other), status placement (family of the origin having a lot of impact on one's class and status), and social control (family likely to curb delinquency or criminal behavior). For this discussion question I would like for you to consider the question of family 'malfunctioning.' Please pick one of the functions and discuss what happens when family as an institution fails to successfully carry it out. What happens to family members when that is the case? Are there other institutions that can take over that function, and at what cost to the individuals and the society?
