Scenario 1: You are a new graduate, and a newly hired staff registered nurse (RN) on a hospital unit. As weeks pass during your orientation, you have been hearing that more experienced RNs complain about constantly having to precept new RNs and feel "burned out." They also voice that there are other equally skilled and capable RNs on the unit that are not given this additional orientee responsibility for unknown reasons. To add to this stress, you overhear that the preceptors do not receive any further compensation for taking on an orientee. Obvious entry points into this assignment are ethnic groups (i.e. the San of southern Africa, the Maasai of east Africa, the Amish, or the Fore of Papua New Guinea), but you may also choose to study a subcultural group if you prefer (such as a diasporic community in a certain city, graffiti artists, drag queens, or anarchists, etc.). The group in popular media (due November 18th at 11:59pm) (e.g. New Yorker, New York Times, NPR programs, travel sites, Wikipedia, National Geographic, museums, performance art, publications, movies, television, books)? Organizational Change  Each organization has its own background  perceptions, ethics, values, history, and ambitions. Therefore, a “one  size fits all” change management process may not work in every  organization. We must assess and adapt our process to fit the  backgrounds and philosophies of each organization. Given this understanding, we need to  research and assess when, and if, an organization is ready for change,  and then adopt a process to best facilitate the change process. Choose a  Middle Eastern organization at which you are currently working or one  in which you are familiar. (If neither is possible, conduct an internet  search to identify a Middle Eastern organization which has gone through a  transformation process within the last three years.) Then address the  following: Provide a brief summary of the organization (its history, culture, industry, product, and services). Explain why a change was needed.
