A prestigious university has recently implemented a consolidation strategy that will require it to centralize their student records. In order to move forward, the local university will need to develop a data model that will retain student records and perform various data extract transform and load (ETL) processes. Imagine that you have been hired as a database consultant to assist in the development of a data design strategy for the student records. You met with various university subject matter experts and have determined the following after performing various business analysis processes: Faculty groups are divided by core competencies that the university offers. For example, there are groups such as the art faculty, computer technology faculty, language faculty, and science faculty. Each faculty member has an assigned dean and is designated to teach at one particular campus and school. They are able to teach as many courses as required. Courses are categorized by course code and title. Certain courses have prerequisites and the university has asked for this to be cataloged as well. There are various schools within each campus. For example, the Los Angeles campus holds the following schools: School of Science, School of Law, and School of Computer Technology. Additionally, each school offers different professional study programs, such as Forensic Computer Science, Marine Biology, Business Management, and Civil Engineering, to name a few. The study path for students requires that they be enrolled in a specific professional study program. The professional study program requires the students to complete a specific set of core courses. The university also requires that an online grade book be available. The online grade book should show grades awarded to students for specific courses and the term they completed the course. The university identifies each student by their name, date of birth, social, and professional study program. Instructions Using these findings, write a 3–4 page paper in which you: Analyze the university's requirements and provide a proposal to organize all the required data elements. The proposal should include the following: Provide an entity relationship model (ERM) that will describe the data structure that will store all data elements. Note: The graphically depicted solution is not included in the required page length. Describe any assumptions or limitations for each relationship. For example, professors are able to teach more than one course, or students can only be enrolled in one program. Create the primary key and foreign keys using a UML class diagram for each table. Suggest at least four types of business intelligence reports that could help the university in course management, student enrollment, or historical tracking. Support your answer by providing specific business functions that these reports could be used for to assist executives of the university. Consider outsourcing the functions above as an alternative for development of the database. Research the Internet and other media sources for vendors who develop registrar and school management database systems. Suggest three vendors that developed and are employing efficient registrar and school management database systems and support your reasons to choose from one of these three vendors. Compare and contrast the key aspects that each system offers. Examples of system aspects include but are not limited to cloud based, pricing model, open source, et cetera. Go to the Strayer Library to locate at least three quality resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia and similar websites do not qualify as quality resources. The cover page and the reference page are not included in the required assignment page length. Include charts or diagrams created in any chart or drawing tool with which you are familiar. The completed diagrams or charts must be imported into the Word document before the paper is submitted. This course requires the use of Strayer Writing Standards (SWS). The library is your home for SWS assistance, including citations and formatting. Please refer to the Library site for all supports. Check with your professor for any additional instructions. The specific course learning outcome associated with this assignment is: Propose a database design.

Introduction To be proactive, organizations need to have structures, processes, and plans in place to counter and respond to potential attacks and to deal with the consequences of successful attacks. A suitable security management plan and well-defined security goals that support the overall goals of the organization can ensure a reasonable level of business continuity, even in the case of security incidents.  In any organization, the individuals on the IT staff must work together to support the security goals of the organization. These individuals play significant roles in detecting and preventing security incidents before they occur. In the case of successful attacks, security management professionals are tasked with acting quickly to mitigate the attack’s effects.  In this assessment, you will refer to the attached "Case Study" document, which contains details regarding a security incident at a small non-governmental organization (NGO). In part I of this task, you will analyze the security incident and provide specific examples and details from the case study to support your risk assessment. In part II, you will create a plan to effectively address the aftermath of the incident and manage the NGO’s ongoing security risks.  Requirements  Part I: Incident Analysis and Response A.  Determine why the attack on Azumer Water’s infrastructure was successful, including two specific vulnerabilities that allowed the attack to occur. Provide details from the case study to support your claims. B.  Explain how Azumer Water’s operations and data have been compromised in the following areas: •   confidentiality, integrity, and availability •   PII (personally identifiable information) For two of the claims, support your analysis using an industry-standard framework such as NIST or ISO 27002. C.  Identify a federal regulation this NGO violated, providing a specific example from the case study as evidence of Azumer Water’s noncompliance. D.  Recommend two immediate steps to mitigate the impact of the incident, using specific examples from the case study to justify how these steps would mitigate the impact. E.  Explain how having an incident response plan in place will benefit Azumer Water, using details from the case study to support your explanation. Part II: Risk Assessment and Management F.  Discuss two processes to increase information assurance levels within the organization and bring Azumer Water into compliance with the violated federal regulation identified in part C. G.  Recommend two technical solutions to counter the remaining effects of the attack in the case study and to prevent future attacks. H.  Recommend an organizational structure for IT and security management, including a logical delineation of roles and adequate coverage of responsibilities, to support the efficient discovery and mitigation of future incidents. I.  Identify two risks from the Azumer Water case study and address each of the following components for both risks: Note: Refer to the “Risk Determination Template” for support with identifying and categorizing risks. •  threat event (risk management tier, threat event from the case study) •  threat source (type of threat source, threat source from the case study) •  threat source characteristics (capability rating, intent rating, targeting rating) •  relevance •  likelihood of attack initiation •  vulnerabilities and predisposing conditions •  severity rating and pervasiveness rating •  likelihood initiated attack succeeds •  overall likelihood •  level of impact (type of impact, potential impact to the organization from the case study, impact rating) •  risk rating •  Discuss your risk management approach based on these risk categorizations J.  Acknowledge sources, using in-text citations and references, for content that is quoted, paraphrased, or summarized. K.  Demonstrate professional communication in the content and presentation of your submission. Reference List National Institute of Standards and Technology. (2012). Guide for Conducting Risk Assessments (NIST SP 800-30 Rev. 1). https://doi.org/10.6028/NIST.SP.800-30r1 Supporting documents also attached

Overview Imagine that you work for a consulting firm that offers information technology and database services. Part of its core services is to optimize and offer streamlined solutions for efficiency. In this scenario, your firm has been awarded a contract to implement a new personnel system for a government agency. This government agency has requested an optimized data repository for its system, which will enable the management staff to perform essential human resources (HR) duties along with the capability to produce ad hoc reporting features for various departments. They look forward to holding data that will allow them to perform HR core functions such as hiring, promotions, policy enforcement, benefits management, and training. Instructions Using this scenario, write a 3–4 page paper in which you: Determine the steps in the development of an effective entity relationship model (ERM) diagram and determine the possible iterative steps and factors that one must consider in this process, with consideration of the HR core functions and responsibilities of the client. Analyze the risks that can occur if any of the developmental or iterative steps of creating an ERM diagram are not performed. Select and rank at least five entities that would be required for the development of the data repositories. Specify the components that would be required to hold time-variant data for policy enforcement and training management. Diagram a possible 1:M solution that will hold salary history data, job history, and training history for each employee through the use of graphical tools. Note: The graphically depicted solution is not included in the required page length. Plan each step of the normalization process to ensure the 3NF level of normalization using the selected five entities of the personnel database solution. Document each step of the process and justify your assumptions in the process. Diagram at least five possible entities that will be required to sustain a personnel solution. (Note: The graphically depicted solution is not included in the required page length.) The diagram should include the following: Dependency diagrams. Multivalued dependencies. The cover page and the reference page are not included in the required assignment page length. Include charts or diagrams created in any chart or drawing tool with which you are familiar. The completed diagrams or charts must be imported into the Word document before the paper is submitted.

Discussion 4 Gastrointestinal Function: R.H. is a 74-year-old black woman, who presents to the family practice clinic for a scheduled appointment. She complains of feeling bloated and constipated for the past month, some-times going an entire week with only one bowel movement. Until this episode, she has been very regular all of her life, having a bowel movement every day or every other day. She reports straining most of the time and it often takes her 10 minutes at a minimum to initiate a bowel movement. Stools have been extremely hard. She denies pain during straining. A recent colonoscopy was negative for tumors or other lesions. She has not yet taken any medications to provide relief for her constipation. Furthermore, she reports frequent heartburn (3–4 times each week), most often occur-ring soon after retiring to bed. She uses three pillows to keep herself in a more upright position during sleep. On a friend’s advice, she purchased a package of over-the-counter aluminum hydroxide tablets to help relieve the heartburn. She has had some improvement since she began taking the medicine. She reports using naproxen as needed for arthritic pain her hands and knees. She states that her hands and knees are extremely stiff when she rises in the morning. Because her arthritis has been getting worse, she has stopped taking her daily walks and now gets very little exercise. Case Study Questions In your own words define constipation and name the risk factors that might lead to develop constipation. List recommendations you would give to a patient who is suffering from constipation. You might use a previous experience you might have. Based on the clinical manifestations on R.H. case study, name and explain signs and symptoms presented that are compatible with the constipation diagnosis. Complement your list with signs and symptoms not present on the case study. Sometimes as an associate diagnosis and a complication, patients with constipation could have anemia. Would you consider that possibility based on the information provided on the case study? Endocrine Function: C.B. is a significantly overweight, 48-year-old woman from the Winnebago Indian tribe who had high blood sugar and cholesterol levels three years ago but did not follow up with a clinical diagnostic work-up. She had participated in the state’s annual health screening program and noticed that her fasting blood sugar was 141 and her cholesterol was 225. However, she felt “perfectly fine at the time” and could not afford any more medications. Except for a number of “female infections,” she has felt fine until recently. Today, she presents to the Indian Hospital general practitioner complaining that her left foot has been weak and numb for nearly three weeks and that the foot is difficult to flex. She denies any other weakness or numbness at this time. However, she reports that she has been very thirsty lately and gets up more often at night to urinate. She has attributed these symptoms to the extremely warm weather and drinking more water to keep hydrated. She has gained a total of 65 pounds since her last pregnancy 14 years ago, 15 pounds in the last 6 months alone. Case Study Questions In which race and ethnic groups is DM more prevalent? Based on C.B. clinical manifestations, please compile the signs and symptoms that she is exhibiting that are compatible with the Diabetes Mellitus Type 2 diagnosis. If C.B. develop a bacterial pneumonia on her right lower lobe, how would you expect her Glycemia values to be? Explain and support your answer. What would be the best initial therapy non-pharmacologic and pharmacologic to be recommended to C.B? Submission Instructions: You must complete both case studies. Your initial post should be at least 500 words, formatted and cited in current APA style with support from at least 2 academic sources.

For decision trees, you may choose to solve the problems using the PrecisionTree ...

For decision trees, you may choose to solve the problems using the PrecisionTree add-in in Excel. Problem 1 A Tech has developed a new AI-based robot and is in the process of deciding how to monetize it. The market leader ClosedAI has offered to acquire the technology for $100,000 in cash, plus an additional bonus of $100,000 if the product is a hit. If A Tech decides not to sell the tech and manufacture the product itself, it could potentially make a profit of $500,000 if it becomes a hit, but also an estimated loss of $300,000 if it proves unpopular. To simplify the problem, A Tech’s executives are assuming that the product is either a hit, i.e., it captures a certain critical number of customers, or not a hit. (a) Using decision tree analysis, evaluate what the company should do if: Executives estimate the chance that the product will be a hit as 0.7? Executives are uncertain about the product’s prospects and says the chances are “evens” (i.e.    the probability of the toy being a hit equals 0.5)? (b) What is the ‘critical’ value for the probability of the product being a hit: that is, the probability value which makes A Tech indifferent between (i) selling the rights and (ii) making the product itself? Problem 2 A Inc. is a manufacturer of computer servers and runs its production at its factory in North Carolina. The plant has the capacity to produce 10,000 servers per year. To produce a server, the raw materials cost $6000 and the manufacturing processes (including capital and labor) cost an additional $400. A Inc. sells the servers for $12,000 each. Because of the rapid development of the data center sector in Northern Virginia, A Inc anticipates a growth of demand in its servers, and is considering how to acquire additional production capacity. There are two possible options for capacity acquisition. The first option is to invest in state-of-the-art manufacturing machinery at the existing plant, which costs $5 million. This would double the production capacity, and also decrease the production cost per server from $400 to $350. The second option is not to increase in-house production capacity (i.e., capacity remains at 10,000 units), but if demand exceeds in-house capacity, any shortfall will be outsourced to an alternative supplier. This alternative supplier charges $8000 per server (materials already included). In the past year, demand for A Inc servers exactly met the production capacity of 10,000 units. For the coming year, demand is expected to either increase by 50% with 80% probability, or stay the same with 20% chance. Develop a decision tree for this problem. Using an expected value criterion, identify the best decision for the plant. Problem 3 G Development Corp. (GDC) is considering bidding on a contract for a new commercial building complex. If GDC chooses to bid on the contract, the pre-bidding legal preparation would cost $200,000. There is a 80% chance that the bid is successful. In that case, GDC has to pay a contribution of $2 million to become a partner in the project. After becoming a partner, GDC would have two options. In the first option, it could build the complex on its own. In this case, GDC’s income from the project would depend on the level of demand for office space by the time the project is completed. It is estimated that the income (revenue minus construction costs) will be $6 million if the demand is high, $4 million if demand is medium, and $1 million if demand is low. In the second option, GDC may sell the rights in the contract to another developer, who offers $3.5 million in cash. GDC has gathered the following probability estimates for the level of demand for office space: the probability of low demand is 0.3; the probability of medium demand is 0.4; and the probability of high demand is 0.3. (a) Draw a decision tree for this problem. Using an expected value criterion, identify the best decision for GDC. (b) Discuss how the decision taken in part (a) would change with respect to the chance of the bid becoming successful.
