Cite specific lectures and pages in the textbook. I am looking for at least two citations from modules and two citations from the textbook. How have you seen yourself grow and become a more effective public speaker throughout the semester? In what areas do you think you can still improve as a public speaker? SCENARIO: Assume you have recently interviewed with the company from your cover letter assignment. You feel your initial interview went rather well, and you would like to thank your interviewer for his or her time and professionalism. You should also use this opportunity to reinforce your desire to fill the position. Be sure to touch upon specific details from your interview. You should use the information you collected for your cover letter assignment to personalize your thank-you letter.
An outline helps you think ahead about what you want to say and in what order you want to say it. A logical order will help you remember what you want to say. It also helps me evaluate your (1) informative organization, (2) appropriate outline format, and (3) coverage of relevant content. The outline should use brief phrases to make your points clearly but concisely. It must be grammatically correct but should not be a verbatim script of your speech; include only the detail necessary for clarity. The outline must also include APA-formatted in-text citations for all borrowed information as well as a full reference list.
Module Five | Assignment One Do you have a general idea of how classroom teachers can improve their tests? This task requires that you have a sufficient understanding of two common test-improvement strategies long —one judgmental and one empirical —and can identify flawed applications of those strategies. After you've submitted your response, I will post an illustrative response, which is intended to represent an appropriate response that will also help you judge the appropriateness of your own response. Consider the following: Imagine that you are a member of a small professional learning community (PLC) at your middle school —a PLC whose focus is on improving the instructional skills of its 11 members. The group meets every other week for 90 minutes. Each PLC member has agreed to do some research on a PLC-designated topic, then provide a summary of that research to the whole group —orally or in writing. Two weeks ago, you were asked to do some reading about how to improve teachers' classroom tests. You have decided to develop a brief explanation of what is involved in (1) judgmentally based test improvement and (2) empirically based test improvement. You intend to circulate a written description of these two test-improvement strategies to all TLC members at least three days before your next meeting. Using no more than 400 words, describe the essence of each strategy (i.e., no more than 200 words per strategy). Module Five Contents

The video you will view (see below) is an opening scene from the movie "Jerry Maguire." In this scene, the character played by Tom Cruise is having doubts about the ethical issues in the sports representation business. In an impulsive moment, he decides to write a new mission statement for his company. In this document, Jerry Maguire argues that the priority of the company should be more on relationships with the athletes they represent, and less concern for the money and financial gains. When he enters the office the next day, his reception from fellow employees is applause, but he is soon fired by his supervisor for writing and distributing the new mission statement. How could he have used power and conflict resolution differently? In the attempt to exercise leadership, did he seem to experience strong feelings of vulnerability? Assignment: WRITE A CASE ANALYSIS IN WHICH YOU RESPOND TO THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS. How did his attempt at leadership and creating the new mission statement create conflict with his supervisor? How was the "focus on people, less on money" priority not compatible with the values of the company and most of the sports representative who worked there? Discuss the following statement. Visions, missions, and strategies must align with the leadership and culture of an organization. If you were in Jerry Maguire's position, how would you have attempted to create the changes he desired? How would you have managed the potential conflicts that could result from a new mission in the company? What is the analysis of power in this example?

Complete the exercise at the end of Ch 7: Calculating the Costs and Benefits of Training. The example provided in the chapter exercise scenario is presented as a post-test-only with control design; create a quick reference chart of the various training designs presented in Appendix 7-1. This chart will be helpful if you are planning to study for any of the HR certification exams. Think about a current or past situation that you were either part of or aware of. Briefly describe the situation. Based on the work environment, the situation at hand, and the resources available, which type of training design do you think would be (or would have been) most appropriate? Why? Calculating the Cost Benefit of Training – Helpful Information In your text, you will find the explanations for each of the items in the presented equation and some of the information to use in the calculation under the Utility Analysis section of Chapter 7; the rest of the necessary information is in the Exercise. The set-up is difficult in the text, because the pages are not facing each other, so my suggestion is to take a picture of the page with the explanations on your phone, or write them out, then go to the page with the Exercise scenario, and fill in the actual information from the scenario for each item in the equation. I think this is a helpful way to accomplish this. Presenting the correct calculation is important; however, equally as important is the ability put the information together by following each step, and for students to realize the various cost considerations - just do your best
