To prepare for this essay, read only pages 1–17, as the next section deals with discovery matters unrelated to the PDA. Be sure you can answer the following questions. Reread the material as many times as it takes to answer them fully: What was the issue involving the PDA in the case? How did the EEOC argue that the PDA applied—per the decision in?Young v. UPS??How did the court interpret and rule on the EEOC’s claims based on the following sections of the PDA? Discrimination “because of or on the basis of pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions;” and “women affected by pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions shall be treated the same for all employment related purposes as other persons not so affected but?similar in their ability to work.” Based on our course reading in this class, what facts in the decision support that assumption?
