Overview: Instructions: Choosing 1 of the counterintelligence cases examined in your readings (i.e. Robert Hannsen, Kendall Myers, or Aldrich Ames), write a short memorandum examining their motivations and why they were not caught for so long. What are the unique circumstances in this case? What are some “lessons learned” that might be applied to avoid future counterintelligence vulnerabilities? Address whether you think technological advances might have helped detect or deter the individual involved in the case you chose. Why or why not? You can include insights from additional readings outside those assigned, but be sure to include references or citations. If you wish to focus on another counterintelligence case, please seek my approval in advance. Resources: Textbook and other required readings. Any outside sources should be appropriately identified. Requirements: Two page maximum Citation page (MLA or APA) Include a BLUF (Bottom Line Up Front) that lays out succinctly and clearly the key points you seek to convey.
