Module 4: Discussion - Practicing Your Embassy Role My role I have assigned you the role in the Embassy Country Team of the Regional Security Officer (RSO) and the law enforcement functions/offices at post- Legal Attache, Drug Enforcement Administration Instructions in Module 5, you will be participating in a role playing exercise as Country Team members. We will use this discussion opportunity to practice role playing and thinking, strategizing, and preparing statements as a member of the Country Team and you should approach this from the perspective of your own Country Team position, economic, political, defense or public diplomacy etc. Review the weekly readings, lectures, and other course material. Answer the prompts below. You are required to post your own answer before you can view anyone else's answers. Your post is due on Wednesday and the response to a classmate is due on Friday. Prompt In Module 3, you wrote about you one most important priority issue that you will concentrate on in your new role in the U.S. Embassy Berlin Country Team. For this assignment, I want to know the range of issues -- all that are important -- that you will work on in the next year. Let me know what they are in priority order. You will also need to mention a strategy to pursue U.S. interests in terms of your role. First: identify your role on the Embassy Country Team explain your specific ideas of specific actions you would take with your German contacts and counterparts in government and society, e.g. politicians.
