Instructions: Imagine that you are an expert, and you have been invited to give a presentation to a local high school to discuss the role and contributions of vitamins and minerals to our health. Your task for this assignment is to create a presentation in preparation for this talk. You will only be required to submit a PDF copy of the presentation (no recording audio/video recording is required). For the presentation, you should include an explanation of fat-soluble and water-soluble vitamins. You should also specifically discuss the following vitamins and minerals in your presentation: Vitamins: A, B1 (thiamin), B2 (riboflavin), B3 (niacin), B5 (pantothenic acid), B6 (pyridoxine), B9 (folic acid or folate), B12 (cobalamin), biotin, C, D, E and K. Minerals: calcium, phosphorous, magnesium, fluoride, chloride, iodine, iron, sodium, zinc For every vitamin and mineral, discuss: basic function and benefits of the vitamin or mineral to the body recommended daily amount good food sources to find the vitamin or mineral for vitamins, as appropriate, discuss solubility Pay special attention (and provide extra information) about: contributions of the B-vitamins and Vitamin C role of two minerals in bone health Be sure to include the basic functions and benefits, food sources, and RDA’s for all of the required vitamins and minerals individually. Do not lump B-vitamins into one! Your final slide deck should meet the following requirements: Title Slide 12-15 content slides As appropriate, consider including graphics and images Reference slide with a minimum of one reference Remember to cite any sources that you use following APA formatting guidelines.
