Instructions Assume you are the CEO of Golden Meats, a domestic pork and beef producer with headquarters in Chicago, Illinois. The company is publicly held and traded on the NYSE. Great Lakes has 5 meat plants, located in Ohio, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois and Michigan. In your role as chief executive, you have just received official word from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that a highly contagious airborne virus is spreading in the United States and threatens the lives of your workers. In your essay, answer the following questions: 1 What would be your first priority to help protect employees? 2 Who would be the key people you would listen to as part of crisis prevention? 3 What message if any, might you communicate to shareholders? 4 How might you do things differently than other companies who have faced such a crisis, such as Smithfield Foods from the Washington Post article? 5 What kinds of crisis is the company facing? (public safety, financial loss or reputational damage?) Your paper must be three to five pages in length, not including title page or reference page.
