Instructions: Answer the following question in five to seven complete double-spaced pages. You will need to include at least three direct quotes of one or two sentences from the Writings of the philosophers themselves as found in the text. The only citation needed for these quotes should be (Text, p. --). Your grade will also depend in part on your own personal commentary on the issues you discuss. If you prefer, you may write this paper in the "first person." Warning: This is not a "research paper." Your answer should be an essay based on what you have learned in the course from from the Course Lecture Notes and the readings from the Assigned Textbook. "Outside sources" should not be used (see Syllabus). Failure to comply with this requirement may lead to a lower grade including a possible grade of "0" or "F" for this assignment. You will also be severely penalized for using a "chatbot" to construct your essay for you. Prompt: What were the views of "the state of nature" held by each of the philosophers Hobbes, Locke, and Rousseau? How did these views lead to the concepts of the "social contract" proposed by each?
