As you work toward your DNP, what specific initiatives or reforms are you most excited to lead in your current role as Nurse Manager, and how do you envision those evolving post-graduation? 2- Hello Dr. Gordon, and fellow students!My name is Joy, I have been a registered nurse for nine years, prior to that I was an LVN for two years, prior to that I was a CNA for four and half years. I obtained my masters from this school in 2021, and began as a lecturer for a California State University nursing school. I recently took a tenured track faculty position, and decided it was time to also pursue more education particularly my DNP. Not only for my role as an instructor but to further improve my own learning. Taking the tenured track position did push me to go back. However I had already planned to get my DNP I just did not know when. I also currently working at the bedside in emergency nursing as well, to stay current in my practice. My personal goals with my DNP, is to utilize my learning for personal improvement in my teaching abilities, and demonstrate stronger leadership skills.
