You auscultate diffuse crackles throughout all dependent regions of the lungs. The patient is lying back in a recumbent position saying that he feels like he is suffocating. Arterial blood gas analysis results are pH-7.19, PaCO2-25, PaO2-52, HCO3- 22. Instructions: Produce an essay.
