Hi Class! More information to come, but the art history department now requires that I that I assign a paper. I have changed the syllabus to reflect this. The paper--- I want it small and to the point, but please do not use *any* AI or chatGPT programs to complete which will be treated as plagiarism and an F. I want the paper in your own words, your own thoughts please! It need not be perfect. The assignment will be simple. I want a one to two-page single-spaced paper where you pick a building, briefly describe it, give me some history on it, and why you like it, or otherwise picked it. I do *not* want the typed body of this paper to be more than two pages, or less than one page. And this is the big part--- any information that you use, I want every last tidbit cited and footnoted. Everything. The paper can have 40 footnotes, or 100 or more. You are welcome to use information from our textbooks, but you cannot use our textbooks alone. I don't need a cover page. I do want at least one picture, feel free to include more, and a bibliography of every source, along with the footnotes. All Chicago style. Get those citations right. Unless it is way off, grammar is not that important to me for our purposes. Information is. Analysis, perception, understanding what is beautiful or likable about a building in your very words.
