Goal: To demonstrate your understanding of and ability to specify interior textiles based on project type, client needs and applicable codes. Project Instructions You will create a presentation based on the two scenarios below. Collect and organize your information for a client presentation. You may select whatever software or mode of presentation that you feel works best as long as you provide all information as outlined below. You do not need to specify any furniture pieces for this assignment. The images have been provided for reference. While your selections should coordinate, the focus is to apply your learning and demonstrate how to make appropriate textile selections based on your understanding of fibers, codes and use. PART A: Commercial Space / Harbor Hotel Lobby The Harbor Hotel is a 5 star hotel located near San Francisco Bay. It boasts a world renowned restaurant and 24,000 sq. ft. of conference and event space. Visitors include both business travelers as well as tourists visiting the area. The hotel is seeking to remodel the lobby and corridors. Your firm has been hired to provide design services and specifications for the remodel. As part of the scope of your project, the client has requested that you specify the following for the Harbor Hotel Lobby: Codes that apply to your project Window Covering Textile (2) Upholstery Textiles Carpet Tile For each textile you will provide the following information that will be included in the client specifications manual: Specification (all textile info, found on the memo sample) Image of Textile Cleaning Code and Instructions Justification for your Selection (Include explanation of ACT symbols and Environmental attributes) PART B: Residential Space / Family Living Room The Smith Residence is home to a young family with two children under that age of five and a large dog. They have an active lifestyle and enjoy spending time together watching movies and playing games. The dog is another member of the family and loves sitting with the kids on the couch. They have hired you to design their living area.
