Formatting Guidelines 1. The color of front cover binding for the project report should be GREEN. 2. The text running on front cover should be GOLD in color. 3. The front cover of the report should be in printed form along with the MEC logo. The required print spacing on front cover page is as follows: Top: 1.0”, Left: 1.5”, Right: 1.0”, Bottom: 1.0” 4. Only one side of the page should be printed. The other side should be left blank. 5. The font used should be “Calibri”, 18 points for chapter title and number, 16 points for sections, 14 points for subsections and 12 points for the running text with 1.5” spacing between two consecutive lines. Footnotes shall be single spaced typing. 6. Use “Justify” alignment for the running text or body of the text. 7. Use “Center” alignment for chapter headings. 8. Use “Left” alignment for Section heading / sub-section headings. 9. The page number should be in the footer in the middle. Report Structure Guidelines The overall structure of the project report should be as follows: A. COVER PAGE (Refer Appendix 2) • Project title • Name of the student with ID • Name of the supervisor • MEC logo • Complete name of MEC at the bottom • Submission month and year B. TITLE PAGE (Refer Appendix 2) • Project title • Name of the student with ID • Submission month and year C. DECLARATION FORM (Refer Appendix 2) • Name of the student with ID and their signature D. APPROVAL FORM (Refer Appendix 2) • Project title • Name of the student with ID • Project supervisor name • Second examiner name E. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT (Refer Appendix 2) It is useful to acknowledge your supervisor (and other faculty members, if any) and help given by technical support staff and others as appropriate at the start of your report. ABSTRACT (Refer Appendix 2) A short summary (100-250 words) distilled from an introduction, research methodology, findings, conclusion, and recommendation of your project after the report is written. G. TABLE OF CONTENTS (Refer Appendix 2) “Table of Contents” in bold upper-case size 16 font in the middle of page (centered). Acknowledgments, abstract, list of figures, list of tables must be in upper case with bold and use Roman numerals to number their pages. All chapter topics should be written in upper case without bold. Subtopics written in each chapter should be numbered using Arabic numerals and indented one tab as shown below. CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION 1.1 Background of the Project 1.2 Statement of the Problem 1.3 Research Objectives The last chapter should be Summary of findings, conclusions, and recommendations in upper case, not in bold. H. LIST OF FIGURES I. LIST of TABLES J. LIST OF ABBREVIATION Upper case “List of Figures” with bold size 16 fonts in the middle of page (centered). Figure must be shown as Figure 1.1, Figure 1.2 and so on. K. MAIN BODY Chapters from 1 to 5. Project Guide (PROJECT 2) Page 12L. REFERENCES (Refer Appendix 2) All references should follow APA referencing style 7th edition. M. APPENDICES The appendices should include the following: Appendix 1: Project diaries. Appendix 2: Interview/questionnaire questions. Appendix 3: Certificate of ethical approval Appendix 4: NDA/letter from the organisation And any other supporting documents if required. Final Project Submission and Presentation At this stage, based on the evaluation components, a final project report should be prepared followed by a presentation. Students must submit their final project report through MEC Future. Turnitin is used to check and report on similarities. Allotted time for final project presentation will be 60 minutes. Students will be informed of the project presentation schedule. Students are required to prepare slides for the presentation and submit the slides in MEC Future. A student that is not present during the presentation will be awarded an F (Fail) grade for the project. The project presentation should include: 1. Project title 2. Abstract 3.
