Explain how three strategies a counselor could adopt might help address the challenges for a selected population. Legislative Policy. Explain how a specific legislative or policy action could benefit a selected population. Written communication: Written communication must be grammatically correct and free of errors that detract from the overall message. Writing should be consistent with the graduate-level scholarship. Note: Because this is your own reflection, you may write it in the first person. APA format: References should be formatted according to APA style and formatting. Competency 3: Describe strategies to address the influence of a counselor's heritage, attitudes, beliefs, and acculturative experiences on the counseling relationship and process. Explain a rationale for selecting the population. Competency 4: Present counseling and advocacy strategies used by counselors to promote social justice for diverse populations at multiple levels. Describe three strategies for a counselor to adopt that could help address the challenges for the selected population. Describe a specific legislative or policy action that could benefit the selected population.
