(Read carefully) Your final for this course consists of a two-part project that will demonstrate your understanding of the main concepts from the class. For your project, you will describe various types of media and functions that exist in dierent types of political, societal, cultural, and economic contexts. Please put together an essay and corresponding slide poster with your main takeaways. Questions and themes to consider: How can news media and other forms of media impact various global publics? How has media around the globe developed over time? What are some of the main attributes of dierent media types, including news media, propaganda, infotainment, public relations, advertising, and non-news media content? How could news media, whether local, regional, national, global, improve and better represent their communities? Consider the various contexts mentioned above.
