Original Discussion Discussion Thread: Tendencies & Biblical IntegrationSelf-Reflection and Personal TendenciesI have just taken my first step toward analyzing how personal inclinations can affect one's research process, in the current week. By using the self-assessment tool, I found my current position, where egocentric thinking and its relation with fair-mindedness perspectives were. When I evaluate proposals from others, however, I cause more resistance than acceptance in most cases. By virtue of this personal preference, the research findings are likely to be affected, and I may start unfolding the supportive evidence while overlooking the other data points. People first must understand their situation in order to grow. I follow the biblical verse Proverbs 15:22 to get counsel for the revision of the plan, and it makes me realize the importance of humility and openness, which are both necessary for trustworthy research.Identifying My Research ParadigmMy research paradigm required me to establish the framework that determines my interpretation techniques and construction of knowledge. Through inner reflection, I have chosen the interpretive paradigm since it focuses on comprehending personal experiences based on their contexts. The research approach consists of qualitative assessments like observations combined with narratives, which enable me to study phenomena by understanding their reasons. This is particularly important for education research, given that individual stories hold weight. The pragmatist approach resonates with me because it unites qualitative vivid understanding with quantitative exactness for resolving practical issues (Creswell & Creswell, 2018). It’s a dual alignment because I set out to make a piece of research that is both meaningful and actionable; that is, it’s rooted in subjective insights and measurable outcomes.Biblical Integration and Christian WorldviewMy Christian worldview is what I integrate within research, and it serves as an ethical purpose for all of my scholarly work. Moreover, the Bible provides eternal principles that define the way I should mold my research goals and research methods. Colossians 3:17 advises believers to do research activities and all other tasks that aim to glorify God. If I am seriously devoted to integrity, I will deliver findings without artificial manipulation. According to scripture, God’s word is a ‘lamp to my feet’ that purges me from untruths at any cost (Ps. 119:105). Firstly, God’s concern for justice manifested by the biblical teaching in Matthew 22:39 encourages me to study how educational settings can ensure equitable service to others.Synthesis and ApplicationOverall, My reflection shows how my worldview beliefs, as well as beliefs in faith, blend well with my natural inclinations. However, I occasionally show traits of egocentricity that require me to seek biblical humility in being corrected in the course of my research work. The interpretive pragmatist paradigm provides me a way to handle education questions critically but practically and to bring Christian values that result in serve-oriented moral clarity with my educational efforts.
