Description Please respond to peer and cite textGood evening, I believe Mrs. K would benefit from the program through promotion of self-determination regardless of what policy says. Keeping Mrs. K in the program would keep her style of treatment consistent and would maintain the familiarity with the staff and facility. The benefits of termination would help her age in place with alternative services in place that would similarly fit her physical and cognitive needs. The treatment plan that Mrs. K and Leslie establishes that change can be beneficial for someone like Mrs. K. The negatives and staying would be Mrs. K becoming too comfortable with her treatment through the agency. She would also become a victim of the policy changes that the agency is undergoing which hinder on any progress she is making through her treatment at the facility. Negatives of leaving would be breaking the level of comfortability and familiarity that Mrs. K has established through the facility. Mrs. K verbalized her concern with leaving would trigger her symptoms depression. This could be a risk that Leslie takes on as the discharge planner for Mrs. K even though she has established a discharge plan with her. Mrs. K additionally has a stabilized relationship in one-on-one therapy. If she were to be discharged, that therapeutic relationship would be broken. According to Poulin, J., Mathis S., & Witt, H (2019), her individual counseling helped her cope through her concerns, challenges and to assist her to develop new coping skills. Without this she may regress back into her depression which would eventually impair the rest of the progress she had made at the facility. If I were Leslie, I would first explore her social network further to investigate in alternative care options through family or friends. The termination plan that Leslie generated with all the alternative care options to what she was already receiving in house were what I would have done as well. I would have additionally explored resource mobilization and service linkage (Poulin, J., Mathis S., & Witt, H (2019) based on what her income could afford, to see different placement options for Mrs. K in other agencies.
