Description A written description of the success (or need for improvement) of your project. You should be sure to include your reflection (2 pages) of all the above, and your projectexperience in general. What did you do well (e.g., what are you proud of)? What surprised you? What would you do differently if you knew at the beginning what you know now? 6) Hourly Log: A detailed tally of all days and tasks with the specific hours allocated. Use the template document you’ve already worked from. UNFORMATTED ATTACHMENT PREVIEW Final Project Portfolio Guidelines The project portfolio will aid in the determination of your final project grade for the semester. The purpose of the portfolio is to create a professional document that highlights the communication skills you used/gained/developed during the capstone course. The portfolio will also demonstrate your scope of work and effort during the semester. All of the following elements must be included in the portfolio: 1) Table of contents: Include each item and corresponding page numbers—the portfolio should move chronologically from start to finish. 2) Project description: Include your entire, revised introduction. Make sure that the tense (present or past, rather than future) is appropriate being that the project will now be complete. 3) Samples: (Visual) of every item created during the semester. A reader of your portfolio should have complete view of the work that went into your project. These items include, but are not limited to: a) Promotional items: press release, flyer, poster, emails to target group, images of event set up, etc. b) Research tools: survey results, focus group questions/transcripts c) Strategic planning items: video scripts/storyboards, social media post calendar; speech scripts, etc. d) Screenshots of websites or online content e) Overviews and explanations of events that are not captured visually should be captured through detailed written descriptions. 4) Written descriptions of each item included (should come before each item in the portfolio). In addition, overviews and explanations of events that are not captured visually should be captured through written description in narrative form. a) Example: Define the item (survey, press release, poster, etc.) and describe the item. Provide “best practices” tips for what is necessary to be effective. For example, go back to your sources for the necessary components of a brochure and describe them here. Be sure to cite! 5) Outcomes: A written description of the success (or need for improvement) of your project. You should be sure to include your reflection (2 pages) of all the above, and your project experience in general. What did you do well (e.g., what are you proud of)? What surprised you? What would you do differently if you knew at the beginning what you know now? 6) Hourly Log: A detailed tally of all days and tasks with the specific hours allocated. Use the template document you’ve already worked from. 7) Reference list: A list in APA format of all sources cited and used to inform your project. After all of this, the portfolio is complete. Congratulations! *Portfolios will be assessed on their professional quality, organization, completeness, writing and editing. Tips for success: o When you think you have finished, give it another look for any grammatical or editing errors. o While quality is the most important aspect of this project, in this case, quantity is also necessary to demonstrate the depth and the breadth of your project. There is no cap on the number of pages or amount of information included, so be sure to incorporate as much detail and as many examples as necessary. o Come by my office! While you are in the process of putting together the portfolio, email to schedule an appointment. I would be happy to look over your work in progress and provide feedback. We can meet in person, by zoom, or however else is necessary. o Do not wait until the last minute to compile this document! You should already be collecting and organizing your samples and writing descriptions of these artifacts.
