Deep Dive Assignment #1: Learning to use a medical dictionary and searchable medical articles. Requirements: The world around us is changing each and every day and those decisions greatly affect our lives. It is important for us to be aware of the events that are going on around us locally and nationally. Learning to use a medical dictionary and other resources to find the definition of a term is an important part of mastering the correct use of medical terms. Do some research on the internet to find a medical terminology resource that you find easy to use and that you like (No, that does not mean Google either). You can select any medical term of your choice. The medical term can come from the course-required textbook or a term that you are most interested in learning more about. To further develop your ability to effectively communicate. You are responsible this semester for completing research on recently published Medical Articles. You are restricted to articles that deal with events of politics, government, etc. related to the United States. You may NOT submit articles related to sports, entertainment, etc. Assignment Requirements: The submission must be between 500-1,500 words (excluding, student heading and references). The assignment should include references and in-text citations formatted according to APA style. Your work should be written in complete sentences and organized into paragraphs; bullet points are not acceptable. Ensure proper grammar, mechanics, spelling, and punctuation throughout. The assignment should be typed in 12-point font following APA format. Each paragraph should consist of 5-6 complete sentences. How can medical terminology improve patient experiences? What is the medical term you selected, and why did you choose it? Explain why you like the term in your own words. Report Content: Select a medical article from a reputable source (e.g., a newspaper, journal, magazine, or a credible internet source) published between 2022 and the current year. Write a summary paragraph of the article in your own words—do not copy directly from the article. Plagiarism will result in a grade of "0". You may use two quotes in your summary, but they must be properly cited. Summary: Share your closing thoughts on the article: How does it affect you and/or your future patients, clients, or customers? References: Include a link to the article you selected, properly formatted in APA style. Two references are required: One for the article you summarize One additional credible source (such as your course textbook) for background information Ensure in-text citations are properly included whenever paraphrasing or quoting another source.
