Compare and contrast the lit reviews I’ve approved. What makes one “good” and the other “bad”? What are their relative strengths and weaknesses? Some things you might consider as you analyze (though this is not an exhaustive list): • What are the strengths of the sources in the lit review? • Does the author(s) accurately represent the sources they are citing? • Does the literature review represent a variety of sources as well as the most up-to-date references? Are the main arguments in the field represented well? • Does the review illustrate both breadth and depth? Does it illustrate good synthesis of information and understanding of the topic? You should go beyond answering “yes” or “no” to these questions. Your ballpark word count should be 1500 hundred words, but no more than 2000 words with proper margins and citations (APA style). Primary sources can include memoirs, interviews, court transcripts, propaganda videos, documentaries, and declassified documents.
