Assignment: You have just been made principal of a school that has been identified by your state as a School Improvement support school.  Prior to beginning, you are asked to conduct a needs assessment on the current practices in place and to develop improvement objectives designed to target improvements, and a plan to improve in the school that appears to be broken.    Candidates will use the School Improvement Support ListLinks to an external site. to identify a school that is supported by the state.  Review the school data and the School Improvement Plan. Written Paper: It should be understood that the written format of this plan would be appropriate for presentation to the Superintendent of Schools. Your paper should be organized with the subtitles as follows… Title Page Introduction (1-2 paragraph minimum) This brief section will be an overview of the assignment. This section should discuss research on the following topics: school climate, turnaround schools, needs assessment. (3 reference minimum) Analysis This section will be an analysis of the school based on the information from the school improvement plan.  Trends in data, areas of focus and identified areas of need of past administration. Needs Assessment This section will be a needs assessment of the current scenario.   Climate Improvement Based on the Needs Assessment, what climate improvements should be put in place?  This section should also discuss research on how these suggested climate improvements work when used by a school leader. Academic Improvement This section will discuss specific initiatives (2)  to improve academics which might include school wide initiatives or initiatives specific to content.  This section should also discuss research on how these suggested academic improvements work when used by a school leader based on the Needs Assessment. Summary (1-2 paragraph minimum) This brief section will be a summary of the important implications of this assignment.
