As part of the requirement of the course, a project will be completed. The project is to analyze a hospitality firm of your choice using financial ratios learned from Chapter 5. You are expected to perform an in-depth analysis of the financial conditions (liquidity and solvency) and financial performance (efficiency and profitability) of the target firm by examining its relevant ratios. The analytical report should start with an introduction of the background of the company, followed by an in-depth analysis of different aspects of its financial conditions and performance. You need to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the firm in terms of its financial conditions and performance and provide suggestions regarding how the firm can improve. The project should end with a summary and conclusions. References should be provided when appropriate. The project represents 25% of your grade which equals 100 points, with introduction (5 points), analysis of liquidity (20 points), solvency (20 points), efficiency (20 points), profitability (20 points), strengths and weaknesses and suggestions for improvement (10 points), and references (5 points).
